Looking at possibly running one of these on a fresh street 300HP/330TQ 350 along with 4x97s with a progressive linkage. My questions are: i. Any of you guys running one on a similar combo? ii. How efficient is the intake ie: fuel distribution/idle /off idle/cruise/WOT ? iii. How have you set up your carbs...Pri or Sec carbs, progressive or straight linkage and jetting ? Also, how would it compare to the Offy 4x2 ? Any help would be much appreciated, fire away boys !! Rat
I would run straight linkage. I would jet the 97s down to .043 and use a .069 power valve. Another way is to use jet adjusters, that way you can really fine tune them in.. The Weiand is a OK intake for the street.. Duane.
Hey Duane, I figgered you'd jump in !! Thought about those adjusters...do they really work that well ? With the linkage, Id be looking at heim/rod ends for minimum friction and adjustability. Any particular reason as to why a straight linkage? Just curious as to the rationale other than "progressive is wimpy" etc.... Thoughts? Also, where would be the best place to score one in good shape ? Ive seen them from time to time on Egay, but havent seen a decent one for a while. Any suggestions?
I run a 4x2 set up with 4 97's with progressive linkage with the outer 2 as primary and 2 centers with air sets closed off and it performs really good for me..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoFt038oQPc
Hello...I'm a believer in adjuster with more then one carb, easy to tune..I not sure if the Weiand intake plenum are is designed for progressive. With the right carb setup is will run just fine with all four at the same time. Duane.
So this is a dumb statement / question but I assume these intakes are not in production any more ? What years were they produced ? Sure is a sweet looking set up.
Kust purchased one of these intakes with 4 97's here on the HAMB... does anyone have pics of the linkage setup?
