Definitely not.
Those chains are crushing the front lower valance, and I wonder what they are attached to underneath.
Also, powerglide equipped cars, should not be towed with the rear wheels on the ground.
Needs a rollback.
But I'm sure the cops don't care.

 

Cool boneyard shot, LowCat! Any more info at all? Like WHERE and maybe what YEAR taken? I don't see any post-war cars, so I'm guessing circa 1950?

Circa 1958 pic of a tidy, picturesque Neptune station in Tasmania,
as shot by Jim Sonter and posted on GasSigns.org. You HAVE to
love the "LUBRITORIUM," eh? Not something you see every day,
what? Can some HAMBers ID all the cars?

 

Lots of goodies in this 1971 photo in Lakeland, FL, from Robert
V. Droz on GasSigns.org! (McDonald's up to 7 billion in 1971!)

 

Covey's Little America on Rt. 30, Granger, Wyoming. Looks
like mid-1950s judging from the cars. From a postcard in
the personal collection of John Cirillo.

 

**Sorry to post again, but this is truly an historic photo. I can't recall one so "period correct" while still being from that era and not modern times.
Also, look at all the oil and grease in the street.

 

There is no truth to the rumor that this station used to be located
near the Mustang Ranch in Nevada. LOL Joking aide, Josh Spencer
shot this pic in Mitchell, SD, and posted it at GasSigns.org. THANKS!

 

This shot just has "lonely" written all over it, doesn't it?
Rich Piehl took this picture on Missouri 47 about five miles
west of Winfield, MO. He said the building was still there,
as of a decade ago. Had been a restaurant/motel operation,
but just a truck repair and welding shop when he snappedthe pic.

And a nice old, restored TEXACO in Knightstown, Indiana,
about a block off U.S. Rt. 40 between Indianapolis and Rich-
mond. ALL VINTAGE, but even though Texaco stopped mar-
keting in Indiana a long time ago, the owner made sure folks
need not forget!

 

SixDogs, RE #21,108: RIGHT ON, man! In fact, I remember in the early '70s when it was still a point of pride among many in the 'rod community to build a quick car for a thousand dollars or less. Not saying it was EASY even then, but it was still something to shoot for. Nowadays, just single COMPONENTS for a car can be over a grand.
