Keep both rad shells and get rid of the roadster(please send pm as to where i can pick it up)

 

I'd have to say I've struggled with this same thing for years. For awhile a 28/29 shell looked funky, something to be desired almost. But on your car and (I forget who's) someones avatar, it just looks really good. As much as I love the rounded sides of the 32 and sleek lines of its grille, I have to go with the 28/29.

 

On that car, Model A would be my choice. Just fits the overall feel better. Holy CRAP! Its a dead heat!

 

Any moron can also BOLT TOGETHER a hotrod using rusty old parts and say that's how they were....but I doubt the "old timer's" were aspiring to PATINARODStm.......

remember that I'm an opinionated basturd...and you asked...

go with the 29 shell, and shallower Guide 903j headlights...your BLC 682j's are too deep for the 29 shell...and if you do this, lower the headlight bar and move it back some.

...and if you even think about cutting that deuce shell, remember, I have the Guido Bros on speed dial.

 

If the car had a dropped axle, split bones, bigs and littles, and a V-8, I would probably say '32, but the way it is, I think the Model A shell looks right.

 

The '32 is creeping back up.

I personally would leave the '28-29 grille shell if you're going to run a full hood. If not, use the '32.

Your roadster, and a few others, got my ass motivated to build my rpu. Here it is at GNRS.

If you're staying with the A frame you should use the A grill. Like wise a Deuce frame and a Deuce grill. I'm not quoting from any book just suggesting the over all look you may be trying to acheive. All that said your car really looks cool.

 

George, you should read the Hamb rules: No posting pics of really cool rides without telling the tire and wheel size so others may copy the look.

 

Both shells look great...but that new headlight bar... Perfect!! I'm fond of the deuce shell personally.

When i voted, it was 141-141. I voted for the A-grill.
But its real close. Why not do both and change the look from time to time.

OK, I found what I thought was a 28/29 radiator that was converted for a V8...however, it is too narrow, you can see the side through the shell. But it's obvious that it was intended for a 28/29. Either way, this puts the height of the shell/hood correct

 

My vote is for the 28/29 shell, you see so many A's with a deuce shell that's its nice to see one with an original shell on it.

If it were mine. id go 32' with no hood, and drive the wheels off the thing.

 

I voted '32. Now cut the bottom out of it and your done.

 

To me a stock 32 grill on a 28/29 always looks to high unless you section it, I much prefer the 28/29 grille on a 28/29A

 

There is a reason the 32's have "been done to death". They look the best. 32 all the way for me!
