I've spent hours and hours on the L.A. history thread, 120 pages long. But it is old(er) history. My wife and I are going to be in the L.A. area for a week in March and don't want to miss any cool car related stuff or places. For sure we want to see the Peterson Museum and the Wally Parks NHRA Museum. What else should we try to take in. Also, is Muroc/El Mirage far away? I know there probably isn't anything happening there, then, but can we take the (rental) car out on it a see what it'll do? Any thoughts?
You can't get on Muroc, it's part of Edwards AFB. For that matter, you can't get on El Mirage right now either, it's under water! It's about an hour's drive north, if you just wanna say you've been there.
El Mirage has an $15 entry these days. At least that is what i read on here. I think it`s worth it if you go there during the week.
