Where Im at in northeast pa .Trevose area ,We dodged the bullet on this ,Missed us ,The power was out and the kids are off from school ,
ps My 32 5 window is parked just behind the 10ft snow bank. Maybe I should have driven my truck to work this morning. BC
This is our backyard before the seven more inches we got yesterday. Now we are getting rain, should make it nice and icy.
I'm hating life here in West Texas (25-35mph wind at 10 degrees) I can't even fathom living in the northern states. F THAT!!!! But I'm a so-cal native that just moved here two years ago.. I know I know I'm a puss.
Freezing rain here last night . 1/2 inch to 3/4 inches covered everything. Sounded like a war zone after 9:00 PM with all the limbs breaking off the trees. Lucky us, it warmed up over night and the ice mostly melted off, or we would be in deep doo doo today.
here are some pics form northwest in. its still comin down pretty good i guess if its goina be cold might as well have some snow
I watch the the weather in multiple places on my Google homepage on my laptop every day, and the weather has been bad in South Dakota this winter (just like last year), even in the Black Hills. A few days ago it was right around zero in the Hills (it's only 11 degrees in Rapid City right now), but I did notice the warming trend finally moving in, with the high in Rapid being 40 tomorrow, about the same as here. Hell, its only 39 down in Phoenix right now! It was just beautiful in the 70's in Pomona for the GNRS last weekend. That's the other big advantage to being down here, I'm close (350 miles) to a lot of fun stuff to do like that in So Cal. I've gone to something fun almost every weekend since I've been down here. I saw Tom H (from ND) at the GNRS and the first thing he said to me was he hated me and didn't want to even talk to me about the weather!! Living in Prescott is like living in the Black Hills because it looks the same, has the small town feel and is very scenic but the weather is better (no extreme cold and very little snow) and it is way closer to everything hot rod. Shhhh, don't tell anyone, we are trying to keep it a secret........... Either way, WINTER SUCKS!!!!!! <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From My Pictures</td></tr></table>taken in Fargo, ND a few days ago.......
Only got 18" and 40-60 MPH winds in Milwaukee last night. Thinking a 40" tall snowblower would come in handy right about now.
I am actually hoping for some snow you boys back East are getting. I have had a burn pile sitting for 2 winters, to dry to burn. Thats what I get for living next to the desert.................
I have some land for sale up near Whitewood if you want some snow.......... <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From My Pictures</td></tr></table><table style="width:auto;"><tr><td></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From My Pictures</td></tr></table>
I believe this is an el nino at work. Global warming is hard to picture climate change is what you are dealing with, now do you believe it???? So oe cockroach asks the other' What killed the Dinosaurs? A Comet! What killed the humans? Seems like the slow cooked themselves to death. Yea they were tasty weren't they? I'm gonna miss them! George Carlin is probably closser to right that Gore: The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through all kinds of things worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles...hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worlwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages...And we think some plastic bags, and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet...the planet...the planet isn't going anywhere. WE ARE!
^then he said something about when the planet is tired of us it will shake us off like a bad case of the fleas. LOL I sure miss Carlin.
Phase 1 of the cleanup with my '75 Wheel Horse B-100........... Phase 2, the Wheel Horse did an awesome job all things considered but just couldn't break through to the road. That's a 4-5 Ft. wall of packed snow 8 ft. across 30 Ft. long and I'm standing on 2-3 Ft. of snow...... Phase 3, waved cash at a passing 4X4 with snow plow which he refused to take, gotta love livin' in a small town. That pile is an easy 6 Ft. deep and there's an even bigger one on the other side of the driveway. As soon as they come by to plow the shoulder a lot of it will be right back in my drive but at least it won't be 4 Ft. deep.......
Glenn, Spring is just around the corner. Was that accident coming down the Matherville hill? HellRaiser
We had 20" here in Morris Il. & 48 MPH winds. Had to go out the sliding glass door to shovel out the front door this morning. But about noon the grader went down the street & cleared the way. Went to the shop & spent 4 hours plowing out the drifts. Been though the 67 & 99 blizzard and this one seemed much easier.
I have a 13' plow and I've been plowing 3-4 hours a day to keep my bussiness lot open. I even had to do my street to help out the city with their punney F350. I still have found a few hours a day to work on my 41 Ford CEO. (Nice warm garage)
damn that looks more fun then the foot and a half of water we had surrounding out tent Sat morning over here from the tail end of a cyclone !!! hope everyone is rugged up warm and having some snowmobile fun those things are great !@!!
