  2. Wow, gone for a few days and this thread gets reved up.
Love the pic of the Mercury car hauler with a Turnpike cruiser inside. My dad had a 57 Turnpike cruiser.

Christian Bros Racing;yes I did forget, but it is no reflection on you! My old pea-brain needs a jump start every now and then! Good luck in your pursuit of that 64,what a storied past it must have,as do most old race cars!!! It looks like it aged well, not like so many others that were just hacked up in the quest for speed. ROY.

'Bout time we started seeing more pictures of the small block equipped cars!!! Roy and I were getting tired of constantly posting up pictures of our own cars due to the fact that we thought there were no more and everyone wants an FE in their framerails!!!!!

Ken;any idea what class the Tom Coward,289 65 Comet ran in? It does not appear to be B/FX as it looks like an all steel car. 64Cyclone;most of us are just trying to keep this thread alive, new pictures are hard to find.I have not seen a moderator step in and stop the chatter,I don't see where it is hurting anything or anyone!! If someone doesn't like the chatter then there are plenty of other threads to read. ROY.

The 65 HiPo Tom Coward car ran in C/FX, C/GAS, C/Stock, and later they lighten the car up and it ran it in B/FX class mostly in the IHRA. The car was out of Chicago and was considered the fastest all steel 65 Comet. That is all I no about my car so far and if you guy’s find anything let me no. I have been trying to fine out more but the guy’s that ran it have passed away and info is hard to get. – Ryan

Ryan and Steve;thanks for the info,I could not read the class[classes]on the windows.I kind of figured it had to be a non-NHRA sanction because when I ran my 65 in Stock they did not allow any non-factory scoops.Ryan, how complete is the car? ROY.

When I bought the car it was fully restored, but the pictures I have from the guy that restored the car it was an roller and was already in primer. At some point of racing they took out the interior to lighten it up. The good thin is they never cut the car and the car never got rusty; there was just an small spot on the right front floor. It still has the 9” and the top loader but the engine was gone. I posted some pictures on this thread and also comet central. - Ryan
