I'd like to see some posts of those who have attended the WCK Back to the Beach in Huntington Beach CA. A great show right on the coastline which was a gorgeous back drop for the beautiful cars in attendance.

Wow...those pics are a blast from the past. I loved this show when it was in HB and I was very fortunate to get a best in progress kustom award one year...1999 or 2000, I believe...I can't remember exactly...it was the last year it was held down by the Hilton. Good times for sure! Thanks, Penny

Back to the beach could have been as big or bigger than paso but every year the city screwed around with permits and letting us have then they'd say no you can't then finally they said no more ,the new hotels were not happy about having a car show across the street from them
very sad but life goes on , i remember the year they said no then called us 3 weeks before and wanted us to rent the lot for 2 days -
we did take it but one day and had over 300 cars
seems like we always had to jump threw hoops where ever we went
forgot about the photo rit put on with franco --cool huh?
I have boxes of photos of bttb-we sure had fun back then

    Penny,
Thanks for putting up with HB as long as you did. Those shows were some of the most fun I ever had at a car show. I guess it is like that line I remember from a movie. "nothing gold van stay".

Great times, at the last show, the park rangers wanted to charge us $50,00 a car, so we told them it was'nt a car show, that we just parked together, The Lifters showed up with 25 cars , we won best club participation. the show has now evolved into the Beatnick Blowout, and is put on by John Parker. Many thanks Penny, your friend Miguel.

  25. Wow that was a real cool show. Wish it had newer stopped. I definatly reconize that pic of the west coast kustom plac. If you take a close look you will see I removed the door post from the merc on that plac. My wifes Merc has been sold but the plac still hangs in the shop. I still have a few trophies from 2000 & 2001 show and some old pic's i will have to dig out.

I actually still have my poster from the Routes of Kustoms. It is framed on the wall in my office.

I still have my poster too, it's to big to scan here at home or I would to share with you all.
Mine is down here in the basement (man cave) not framed but hanging along with other posters and the like.
That "Back To The Beach" was one of my favorites because I grew up hanging out at the pier, Golden Bear, and just sitting in the sand (I was a greaser so I didn't surf much!). This was my high school back in the early 60's.
