You can say that again, FarmerGal! The camera froze a split-second of ordinary people and real life in the '50s when things just seemed simpler. You didn't need computers or Dolby sound to have a good time, just some platters and a sweetie.

I've ALSO appreciated SixDogs' pix of soda fountains, roller rinks and bowling alleys for the same reason. Line dancing, cake walks, the Stroll . . . wow! <!-- / message -->

Gosh I wish more of these sources would include the LOCATION and at least the year on these ol' junkyard shots! Without that, the pix become sort of just sad photo compositions without virtually no substantial foundation.

Now, I do know that the HUGE yard was in Los Angeles, though I can only guess the exact year. The original images are in one of the Cal university libararies.
