Hoping someone here will have some leads on a weatherstrip source for my 1957 IH Metro van. Cross section pictures below) I'm guessing this is a mid/full size truck/Bus strip from that era, I haven't found it in any of my car sources (Steele, Restoration etc). I've found one type that will fit but is flat and has grooves in the exterior surface. The strip on the van now has a nice simple half round black exterior that I'd love to be able to find...anyone know of any good sources for this? Thanks in advance!!!!!
All the truck/bus stuff I seen from the era of 50's-60's were of the type that the glass and body slots were across from each other. The glass was smaller than the body hole. And used a lock stip to retain and put pressure on the glass and body. The triangle type lock strips. and glass groove was wider than the sheet metal groove. Did you check JC Whitney cataolg for rubber profiles? they always had a lot of those of different sizes and dimentions. Frank
Have you tried Restoration Specialties & Supply? http://www.restorationspecialties.com/ They have on in their online catalog that looks close:
I've sent a sample to restoration, nothing that fits, same with metro who had an almost good enough one but not quite deep enough
