  5. Naw. a buddy of mine. Had a very strong Y-Block out of a sprint car. He stayed in the car and got one little scratch on his head ... lol

    I was there that year and got to see this crash and it was just as bad as the picture show's. It was my first Indy.

    Well this ought to put a "hitch in there get along" as well,... this picture was taken in 1956,... And by the way, I have a NOS pair of western auto "Giant fuzzy dice" still in the cellophane wrapper, dated 1955,.... No kidding.

  25. That is one butt ugly COE! Also, what's with the padding on the fenders of the T-Birds right above the rear wheel wells? Something to protect the paint when installing or removing the hardtop maybe?

    That was the prohibition era, if that was wiskey in that bottle it sure wasn't legal but I don't think the G men were climbing up to nail an ironworker for illegal hooch.
     
  30. That might be a factory installed bed, Chevrolet built cars like that, some also had fifth wheel hitches in the "Trunk area" and pulled gooseneck trailers.;)
