It was 1959 I went to my first drag race. Lancaster dragway in PA.

From there it went all downhill, I can't get away from it. LOL

I had the best of times & met & know many great people. The only downsize is we lost a lot of them.

The 62 Savoy isn't ugly, but its not the best looking car. That would be the 1968-72 Chevy Nova!

 

Pretty much anything I have on those has already been posted.

 

Apparently so, that picture was scanned from the June '66 issue of Super Stock & FX Magazine.

 

Not only did the senior Heinkel have nice cars for sale, but he had a fantastic '55 Chevy post sedan that he drove to Island Dragway, changed tires and would blow everyone away. Can't remember the cl***, but it was probably one of the stock or modified cl***es.

 

Okay, so it's not in motion, but you have to admit that this cover of the April, 1960 issue of Rod Builder is way cool!

 

I ain't a huge Mopar fan but that thing is givin' me a Woodie.

 

I know this is not in motion or vintage but I was at the world finals and took a few shots of this display.

Looking forward to more mid '60's tire smoking runs........

Here's a shot of the Hairy Canary racing my Willys in 67. I was told this was the final round of a big UDRA race and the Willys won.

You go off for a few days to a swap meet and it takes awhile to catch up. You guys have been busy while I was gone. Whose Falcon is this???
