Every time a car with an engine like that gets stolen my first thought is that it was stolen for the engine. Guys in the LA area might be on the lookout for a car showing up with a freshly installed engine with that blower sticking up where everyone can see it. And probably not in a car that looks like it should have a blown engine with That style of blower on it. Think subpar no buck car with killer blown engine in it.

I have been thru this with a major hotel chain when my truck was stolen.Basically when you check in you sign your name and it releases them and makes you responsible for the room and parking spot. Its all in lawyer speak and small print somewhere where you can see it.They have their escape hatch and our money so why care about our cars. It's all about the money.

You are telling me that three different roadsters have been stolen from this same hotel?
I would be interested in knowing who was working there at the time of all three thefts.
Have there been other thefts that the public is not aware of ???

We're talk'n the Fairplex Sheradon here. There is auto related shows there at least once a month plus the NHRA Museum within 300 feet. The bad guys already know when and where to look. It's been going on long enough you'd think at least the Pomona and San Dimas cops would increase patrols.

Awesome ride, hope you get it back intact.
Like the rest of you, I really get tired of people losing their pride and joy to some scumbag A-hole.

I was doing a bit of Googling hoping I'd get lucky and find someone trying to sell some parts off of the roadster, and I found this in the process. Some more good pix of the car. My eyes are on the lookout here in Montana. Don't expect it'll show up here but you can bet if it does I'll make sure it doesn't stay here long!

    here's the pics. http://www.hotrodscustomstuff.com/OLD_SITE/Chicks32-02.html

One way is to tell the NHRA and the events organizers that your not coming with a car because its not safe. You can bet if someone is losing money by non-attendance the pressure will go on providing security (reliable). The squeaky wheel get grease if people don't show up they lose.

Looking at the pictures just makes this harder to take. What a work of art but it is the shot of all the guys helping that got me. Hopefully those same guys and lots of others will come up with a lead. I really feel sorry for the owners.

Make shure you file a report to the California Highway Patrol, the local cops won't do a thing. C HP will send notice to all the impound yards, Border Patrol, The liason to the Mexican cops ect. Go and post pictures at all the shipping yards in Long Beach incase some one try's to ship the parts overseas.I asked the local car clubs in Tijuana, no news on your car, most the car theft rings operate out of Compton and Long Beach. Go ask the guys at Socal , Bobby Waldon's shop, or the Kenedy bros. if anyone has been offering them 32 parts. I'll look at the Big Three Sappmeet in San Diego, I would also go to the Pomona Swappmeet and the Long Beach Swappmeet, hundreds of stollen cars have popped up there as parts for sale.

  18. The NHRA has nothing to do with the event that this was stolen from, nor was it at the NHRA Museum.
It was at a motel that is adjacent to the fairgrounds where the show is held.
And I don't think the hotels have enough incentive as they will fill up the rooms regardless of some people saying they aren't coming without an increase in security (which will cost them more money). It's just the reality of business.
I'm not sure of the answer to the problem, but i think each of us has to make our car harder for the thieves to take so they will move on to something else. And then figure out a tracking device so that if it is taken it can be recovered. No easy solution.

It's unfortunate we live in a society where theft is so prevalent. As fellow rodders in the community all we can do is keep a look out for one another.
