I'll be there as a racer in HOT ROD....getting there Weds around 8am....pulling out...Sunday around 7pm.....hopefully.
Trying to finish up my 53 Ford 2 door Ranch Wagon for the show.
So I'll be pulling double duty....lol

Thinking about going, do we have the date. Checked the calender, not listed.

 

This year the MM will be without the Group 1 racecars. Those cars include the 6 second AA/GAS SUPERCHARGED, The low 6 SECOND A/FUEL, The high 6 second Jr.FUEL , and 36 of the 7.0PRO cars(dragsters, altereds, funnys).

Come on out. You will be right at home. Used to be a joke going around that the first 3 words a Okie Baby heard was Momma, Daddy & Bakersfield!! Least thats what Dad said! He hit Bakersfield ( Oildale ) right out of Okie with a Brand new 53 Merc and a new pair of Blue Suede shoes...

 

I'll be heading down for my first March Meet to crew on Jason Rupert's Nostalgia Funny Car. Hopefully I'll be doing way more racing then spectating that weekend.

I'm not but my buddy Matt will be there crewing on the Orange Crate T/F driven by Radar. Matt's driving his 60 Chevy 2-dr out from Iowa because he doesn't want to fly. Matt's the guy that offered up his 32 coupe for use as the cover car for the new 60th anniversary reprint of Hot Rod by Henry Gregor Felsen. If you run into him at the track you won't meet a nicer guy and he is a hot rodder to the bone.

36Cab, Do you know if that N/TF car has a Neil and Parks chassis?

 

I believe it is. I remember seeing a photo at Matt's house of the new chassis at Neil and Parks shop when they picked it up.

 

The entire track has been redone. 1320' of Concrete!
