Unfortunately, by the time they pulled over both the car and trailer were destroyed. He had just had the car insured 3 days earlier. Bones and Helga are OK. This is the car he named Zoot Zooter </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Wow, nothing like the shock of realizing your trailer is on fire! At least they're ok, and nothing living was in the trailer (it's a lot worse when you're hauling horses). It's depressing to see a car like that meet it's demise that way
This is a terrible thing to have to deal with, at least it was insured. It's kinda obvious that this was an electrical problem. A battery disconnect should be part of any collector car. At first look it makes you wonder what's up with the door? Was it that full of fillers or what the heck??? The rear fender was obviously filled to refinish the bead but that door isn't right???? I can't imagine that the door suffered that much damage do to heat/warpage while the rest of the body suffered little from the heat Something isn't right here? .
The door was probably pried open with a crow bar by the fire fighters to help put the interior fire out. Kind of a low blow to hate on a guy's craftsmanship after he just loses an amazing show car in a fire, and especially based on ***umptions and speculation, after said vehicle is enclosed in fire and heat. The car was probably on fire for a while since it was out on the highway and fire trucks don't just sit out there waiting for stuff to burn. Whether you intend it to come off like this or not, it makes you sound like a jealous hater.
Don't be a cad. The question is legitimate and I doubt that the fire dept would pry the door open on a 3 foot tall convertible to "help get the fire out" I'll question anything that is out of place as would any insurance adjuster when he deals with the car. .
Glad they are okay.... I was initially thinking....Doesn't anyone check the mirrors while driving.....might have caught it quick enough.......but then I realized the fire probably spread really quick at 60 MPH.....
Really? You are going to knock the possible build quality of one of the finest builders of the current era based on a burnt car and a couple of pics? How ****ing arrogant is that! And you can tell that the fire stated with something electrical in the car? Not a trailer problem? You must be one hell of an arson investigator!
your theory is that the door was that badly mangled and they just filled it with mud? the door was obviously pried open.
You would think that the b pillar would have been damaged by any such prying It looks more like the door was pushed or crushed in at some point. Looking at the trailers fender well, the tire may have exploded and sent shrapnel into the trailer. .
Wow, how sad...Bones is good people...sorry to see such destruction!! I've seen trailers burn like that before because of a flat tire which will catch fire within a few miles, even could be brakes dragging or a wheel brg go out and catch a tire on fire.....SAD ! Here's a picture of Kenny Jennings with Watson... Kenny did the building of that once beauty....
Thats what i was thinking as well...the body looks like it was perfect before the fire...what a shame glad they are ok.
