  5. Happened right in front of me, Dallas 69. Patty got crossed up, Gerry lost traction, saw Patty get crossed up, Gerry stood on it, Patty crossed into Gerry's lane,Gerry hit him going really fast. Horrible wreck, bodies tore away and you could the drivers rag-dolled about. Just an awful mess. Made a big impression on a 17 year old kid.[IMG][/QUOTE]

Here's some my Father-in-Law took. 1956 Nationals. I've been informed this was in Kansas City.

I had posted these over on Yellow Bullet and someone suggested that I put them up here. I've been a member here for quite a while but I haven't been very active.

These were slides originally. I had them converted to digital and put on a CD. The originals are much larger. I had to reduce them to make them fit the page. I'm amazed at the quality. And in color no less!

How come there's no fat guys? LOL

Sorry guys, that's all I've got. I don't know if he didn't take any more or they didn't survive but that's it.

He will be pleased when I tell him how much they are being enjoyed. I'm glad I brought them over.

    Thanks, Karl

my dad said they got cube checked a couple times. once with a 360" "283" something about a closepin or something in the cyl. made the cubic inches come up way off.....and no one wanted to pay the protest fee:D lucked out on that one.

Thanks for sharing, the background is as cool as the subject. Great photography

  21. Dragonitwit, those are great. I had some old slides scanned and they came out so small and dark they are useless. Could have been the person scanning them or the originals, but I'd say you got super lucky.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Gerry Schwartz lose his life in this wreck?
