i've still got this little turd, i need to get some more recent pictures. should be back together again soon (for the second time in the last year). not sure if i'd call it a survivor but my truck was built/ last painted in 65 (i did some touch up paint to cover some old primer spots) and les is almost done with his 3 window
A fellow club member , Buck Rosson owns " Willy's Pie Waggon" a injected flathead car that won the winter nationals in 63 and the Service Center Anglia, I'll try to post some pictures of it. Also check out 52 vicky Rod and Custom survivor, I was able to find the history of the car, thanks to the guys on the hamb.
Ryan There have been a lot of survivor cars on the HAMb since I have been on board. I love a survivor car especially the survivor race cars although it would be a shame for me to have one I am sure I would ruin one. I especially like that Texas '33 it haunts me also. I also really like the little monster. somewhere I have read an article on the car in the last few years. Cool little car with cool history as I recall. Thanks for putting them in one place. Now if I can control myself I have a few things to do. Damn I wish self control was one of my stronger traits. peace friend. it does to me. I love old race cars.

Mine and Bob Owens 2 survivors of 1950s Hot Rodding shown together at the 2024 GNRS both Oakland Roadster show cars from the 1950s.
Seems like every couple of years we go on runs of people digging out new survivors here on the hamb. Feels like this thread could be added to forever. @Kid Rocker has a pretty******in one almost back to the road!
I’ll throw in my old pile-o-parts Tudor sedan, found in a barn in Tullahoma, TN. Sorry if some of you are yawning, but maybe the noobs haven’t seen it Although not as finished as most, it was an early Hotrod some time in its life. Some guy(s) were tearing up the roads, and the posted speed limit, years back. 59AB, 37 transmission and rearend, with a 34 x-member and 34 rear crossmember. A 34 steering box keeps those biceps buff. A partially boxed frame helps handle all the torque the little flattie can chug out. The unchopped top was expertly filled with an oxy-act welded insert with no warpage, protecting the two upholstery jobs of white followed by black roll and pleat. Then there are the leaded and brazed firewall holes. And the filled and leaded dash, cut out for some SW’s and a radio, plus the surviving CHROMED windshield frame. I gently and cheaply got it back on the road to the level I envisioned those previous owners had it. Fortunately, and surprisingly, the engine was freshly rebuilt, so that was a plus. Some of the caveman level workmanship was jaw dropping, but now all that’s been corrected. Sadly, in a weak moment of roadster lust, the body was traded off for a complete Brookville roadster body, but the car lives on in its new guise. Here’s the long ago rebuild thread if you aren’t bored enough already. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...n-find-deuce-tudor-update-21-aug-2018.943947/ Now only a partial survivor
Cool thread, back from the dead. I have a couple cars I would consider survivors. Both are old Bay Area cars and both are untouched from the time they were first put together and shown. Here are a couple photos and some links to their stories: Hot Rods - Another "They're Still Out There" Flavored Thread - 1932 Ford | The H.A.M.B. History - Looking for information on 1936 Ford Phaeton / Joe Passalaqua - Bay Area, CA, 1960's | The H.A.M.B. www.ironandsteele.com
1931 Slant Cabriolet model number 68-C late production it has flush mounted doors. This was one of my coworker's Dad's car he drove to High School in 1955 and then to Sacramento City College when the Dad passed my coworker did not want the car so it was offered it to me.
Thanks @Tim for bringing this one back up! Im going to have to go through almost all of it. I remember the 34 but not the others.
Ive amassed a little collection of survivors in the last few years, i dunno how it happened but it did.....i love survivors, they tell so many stories.... im also lucky to have old photos of my cars, some 1 or 2, some a bunch, and i even have videos of a few racing.....
I some how missed this the first time. Survivors I feel for a lot,I own one, that I built in the 1950s,so I'd have a car to drive for Miami Sr High School. I kept it,an still make runs on good weather weekends {when I was younger, the rain didn't stop me,but now days it can keep me home.. I did a refresh of my hotrod a few years back, here on the HAMB. Have enjoyed others that have done the same..
Ralph Neal's 32 Ford Roadster. Ralph first built it as a high boy in 1949, added fenders 1954, changed Kinmont brakes to Lincoln's in 1956 and changed from flathead to small block Chevy in 1957. Ralph sold it early 1960's, then two quick owners until it was purchased in 1965 by a gentleman who sold it to me 2022. He bought it without engine and transmission and it was painted black. He installed a brand new 1965 small block Chevy and four speed and changed exterior to red. I changed tires and wheels and few other exterior details to make it look like it did when Tom Medley photographed it for Hot Rod Magazine at 1954 Bonneville. Currently gathering parts to make it exactly how it was in 1954.
Old pics of my 59 at the drags in the mid 60s. Still running the same 327, Muncie, and 456 posi. Great thread!
