Took a walk through D.V.A.P. Today. Just a couple of pictures I thought I would share. <a href="http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l29/thebastardson/?action=view&current=Photo0343.jpg" target="_blank"></a<a href="http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l29/thebastardson/?action=view&current=Photo0342.jpg" target="_blank"></a<a href="http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l29/thebastardson/?action=view&current=Photo0341.jpg" target="_blank"></a
I only had my cell phone so I only took a few pics....It was a cool trip though. I always enjoy walking the yard.
Thanks invicta. I've been to the one in Phoenix/Cave Creek a number of times. I guess it may be worth the trip down to Casa Grande by the looks of it. Thanks for sharing the pics!
how are their parts prices? do they have standard price list like pick-a-part? of do they size you up and give you a price? ebay prices? do they work with you on deals? they have a new TV show where it seems likes they lose money building nice cars to auction for cheap. but during the show they quote parts values that don't jive sometimes when the buy the whole cars for less than that value of a particular part of that car.
i can only go walk around desert valley when i'm flat broke, otherwise i find too much stuff i "need".
that chevy delivery reminds me of a buddies car as a junior at vo-tech ,his spent about half the school year in the shop with my van ,we were in auto body ,but we thought we were the kings of customizing ,flared fender openings, deep shag carpet, big steroes,6" shackles,& m-50's he painted his turd brown, thats what he named his ride "the turd" ,mine was light & dark blue imron with mira flake ,flames & graphics "starfire" air brushed on the sides, man i just went back to the summer of "76" love them old hippie wagons !!
The show is just another deadline panic show, everyone knows it will get finished.I`ve seen several technical errors already. I`ve been to Deer Valley airport several times before that yard was there, traded for my avatar in Phx. left the valley in 87. Went back for a visit in 07.It sure has changed since I left.
Been a bit since I've been but I've bought parts at both the Phonix and Casa Granda yards. Not Pull-a-part type pricing, they quote per part and seem to have a good handle on how rare and/or desirerable the part is and price it accordingly. Prices are high but not outrages and I don't complain because the have parts and generally the parts are nice rust free desert stuff. I'm sure they gotta get top dollar for the parts to be able to keep it afloat, they got a lot of $$$ tied up in these yards.
I have heard them quote parts that I thought were too high and then some I think are fair. Guess it comes down to how bad you need it....
he said the same about the ram head and the hub cap sitting on that car right out side the door. they were all priced at 3800 bucks. Made me laugh.
I'm not really a Ford guy, but the second pic of a black, 59 (?) Ford, with the chrome reverse wheels; what's the story with the roof? It looks like a 63-64, or so, Fairlaine roof. Or is it a rare option? They should rebuild that car for the show. Butch/56sedandelivery.
No...that yard is the Phoenix yard. As for the black 59, I think it was cool as hell. Certainly could be fixed. If I remember right the passenger side door had a dent and the rockers had rust. The front end was killer on it though....
The Galaxies had that roof. There are more prevalent than any other style.I guess you just haven't seen many 59s.
I guess not. It looks like it should be a hardtop roof, not on a sedan. Like I said, I'm not a Ford guy, I just realized I misspelled "Fairlane". Thanks. And I still think they should do that car for the show/auction. Butch/56sedandelivery.
