Jim Oddy won Comp in that BB/GS Opel at Indy in 1972. It was sold to Frank Mazi who ran it in CC/A

Paul Aulthouse? That's a name I haven't heard in a long time...if it's the same guy I'm thinkin of, he built racing transmissions -- Arcadia, I think? They cost a lot less than did similar B&Ms and he stood by his work...wonder what happened to him?

It's a 52 MG TD to be exact and the picture is from SS&DI magazine taken at the Div. ! points meet at Cecil County MD. The car is running again and is still owned by one who worked on it. Picture is from Lebenon Valley in Oct of 2010.

The one I found is definately aluminum and looks real close....was there another car similar that was aluminum?

  19. Off the top of my head I can't think of any alloy bodies that are similar to the TD; there were some aluminum Jags (XK120 and the like)...do you have any photos? (Or is that getting too far off topic?)

I believe that his shop was/is in Monrovia and I saw him a few months ago at Fontana. He has an immaculate '68 Camaro bracket-type, big-block car. It's plenty stout. He's probably adept at transmissions as well, but his reputation was made with big-block Chevys of the Super Stock variety. Some of the early cars that I remember included Mike Walker's '65 Malibu Z16 combination and Jay Payne's '69 COPO SS/DA Camaro. There have been MANY others.
