I'd buy my wife $800 of riding lessons at her favorite stable. She deserves it for all my car junk / activities she puts up with.

Then I'd buy $200 of sheetmetal to finish up my car junk / activities.

$1000 doesnt go very far. Guess I'd add it to the $500 that I already have earmarked for doing the floor in my O/T, throw in a posi and a pair Rancho 9000 series shocks, use the balance on the front suspension/brakes, and get it back on 4 wheels. Oh, wait, I am broke again, and I still dont have tires...

Good point. I almost think a weeks vacation with my family relaxing on a beach would do more for my car then anything. Sit back recharge the batteries and come home with a clear head and some great memories. So who's giving me a grand?

  12. Shocks all around

    Rear shock bar

    Hardware for front sway bar

    New chrome hood bar

    4 new outside door handles

All for my 55 Chevy Wagon, but that'll add up to more than $1000 right there.

I'd be halfway to a new transmission for the 55.

  15. All that hard laughter threw me off the topic, and I Forgot to mention that I would start looking for a heating and cooling system for my '47 chevy coupe.

I bought 20K worth a few years back @ $400 dumped it at $850, and used the proceeds + other savings/investments to put 1/3 down on a house. The writing was on the wall long before Lehman Bros. :D;)

Well, I just paid off some bills and had some $$$ left over, so I splurged on a pair of repro Fenton SBC headers, and put the rest on ice, since swap meet season's coming up soon.

  26. If a had a grand fall out of the sky and into my lap and could use it any way I wanted I would probably take my wife on a nice vacation,,away from her shop for a few days and have the money to pay for the extra help while shes gone. HRP
