This is exactly how most of them looked.

They still have one of these in Frankenmuth MI. It's located in the Rexal drug store. They serve a wicked malt and a great breakfast.

If you ever get a chance, it's a great town to visit, and the worlds largest Christmas store, Bronners.

Now, HERE is an original plot! Despite the efforts of a citizens' group to outlaw
"hot rod" and "chicken" races , a group of teenagers is preparing for the annual
    demolition derby . . . .

Dragstrip Riot, 1958. Cool artwork! BTW, the movie poster images I post
on this thread are just here for entertainment and nostalgic and historical
discussions. They are all available at VERY reasonable prices on eBay
and easy to search, if anybody wants various-size repro versions for their
garage or home. (The images presented here are generally low-res, so
somebody couldn't make a large version if they wanted to anyway.) Not a
commercial, for anything or anyone, just trying to return a favor to those who
do present these repro images on eBay and other sites to try to make a living
    for themselves. Fair enough?

Okay, Tim & MrMac, THANKS, guys. I'll just have to do a preview of anything I'm putting on. If something doesn't work there, then I'll kill it. Thanks again, everybody.

Okay, here we go. I'll preview it to make
sure the pix show, then post it! :p

Given Amelia Earhart's massive popularity, it is
no surprise that a young Kathryn Hepburn was
cast as a strong-willed aviatrix in "Christopher
Strong," RKO 1933. Photos THANKS to IMDb,
    Internet Movie Database!

How to make them work every time--but in smaller jpeg format.

    1----"Save photo" in computer
2----click "post reply" at bottom of thread
3----when reply box opens, click on the paper clip attachemnt at the top of the thread tools attachment. This will fix photo into the reply and when you click "preview post" you see the smaller photo. You can click on it to make it bigger.
4----Add some words or significance and click "submit"

    Jim--
Don't have to kill it. Just go into "edit" and then "advanced edit'.
But first--save your photo into you computer as described above.
Then in advanced edit delete your old photo.
Then click on the paper clip attachment as described above and --whoopie--the photo will show when you click preview.
I do it all the time when I get a red X.

I'm running out of cell phone minutes but can call you after 9 PM and walk you thru it.

Well, I saved the Hepburn pix to my computer, and they showed just fine when I reposted the second time (Post # 22,303). So, I'll just SAVE first, then PREVIEW things before I post. And, it seems from what I see that I am not the only HAMBer whose pix don't always show up.

I've ignored my real work today playing with cars/etc., so I'll knock off for now.

  22. Does anyone know if any copies of these old movies are still available today (on DVD or VHS), especially this one?

I'm surprised nobody pointed out "Ala Kart" is in this poster.

Have you ever tried any of the not so legal downloading sites?

Interesting casting. Jimmy Lydon was "Henry Aldridge" in a series on radio and movies in the '40's. Art Baker was the original host of "You Asked For It" and was a patient of my dad's, Gil Stratton was a sportscaster on local TV, Gloria Winters was the girl in "Sky King".

  27. No, but I just found it here for $24.95

David Langham, the youngest son of a hot-rod hating father, Judge Langham, buys an old jalopy but, out of respect for his father, doesn't convert it. He changes his mind when Jack Blodgett, the local speed demon, impresses David's girl, Janie Pitts, and David makes his car the fastest in town. Jack steals David's hot rod, and flees the scene of an accident he causes. The car is traced back to David, but the truth comes out in court, although David's father is still unhappy about the car... until David and his friend, Swifty Johnson, use it to apprehend some escaping robbers. The Judge decides to back a movement for building a hot-rod race track for the town. Written by Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
