I went to visit the SS Lane Victory ship in Long Beach harbor and swung by Bob's to see if there were any noteworthy vehicles, and, as usual there were.

I heard a group from George's Diner stopped by the Broiler for breakfast! Thanks, George and Helen, you guys are great

George's 50's Diner in Bixby Knolls opened as Grissinger's back in 1952, then was later Lyman's. The diner frequently stands in as a movie location..here it is in "A Cinderella Story" with Hillary Duff:

'course the Broiler's also a great filming location. You might have spotted it in an episode of "Mad Men" or caught it on a late night Time-Life infomercial. As Johnie's, it was in tons of music videos and movies. Here it is in "Heat" with Robert DeNiro and Val Kilmer (from seeing-stars.com):

  "What's Love Got To Do With It?", "Unstrung Heroes" & "Reality Bites".
  
  However, in January of 2007, the building was illegally demolished. In 2009, the property
  was acquired by Bob's Big Boy, who rebuilt the diner, using the original 1958 plans,
  and some of the materials salvaged from Johnie's, so the new Bob's Big Boy will
  closely resemble the original Googie restaurant.[/SIZE]
