I am filming a documentary on NOSTALGIA drag racing and hot rodding. I will be in Tuscon Arizona Feb 28th through Mar 4th. If anyone would like their car to be filmed and can be available one of these dates please email photos of car and contact information to: professorapeman@gmail.com -No billet -No "new" wheels If you want an idea of what we will be doing and to see an example of my work watch this video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNX5h1yfNBQ
I wish I could have planned for that! Unfortunately this was a vacation planned before I had made the decision to start this film. I will be headed back to Illinois by the 5th of March. Would you be able to provide me with a list of people to contact? I hope to get at least one day of filming in between Feb 28th and Mar 4th. I appreciate the help thank you!
That video is cool as hell! If your doc is going to be as good or better than that I can't wait to see it.
Here is his video he already made. Someone needs there car in his video! <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SNX5h1yfNBQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
All the cars you are asking for will be gathered in one place and racing, you are only 120 miles and one day away from being there, yet you can't make it? Dude, Sacrafice for your art !
The event sounds great and I would love to be there but event filming is not what I am looking for. I want to find someone with a really good period correct 60's gasser or altered to film on some back roads. Someone that is passionate about nostalgia drag racing and passionate about driving their car! If this sounds like you, contact me at professorapeman@gmail.com
Event filming is not art !!! Leave that to news crews and home video guys haha, if you want to be in a real film then "Dude", sacrifice for your hobby.
"I am filming a documentery about NOSTALGIA drag racing and hot rodding." It seems to me that a nostagia drag event at a small track with a bitchin' '60s vibe, surrounded by desert backroads that has been in oprtation since 1961 might be good place to find what you are looking for. A bunch of the cars and people you want will be there in the type of location you want. I guess this is a case where the mountain must come to Mohammed. This piece of the mountain is going racing
Mike, like I said multiple times I would love to be at the event but my vacation here in Tucson was planned before I had planned the film and I will be on my way back to Illinois by the 5th. I am in no way saying anything bad about the event, I am sure it is a good one and I regret to be missing it. However event filming is not what I am looking for and I would only go to it on recreation not be there trying to drag people away to film on back roads. I started this thread in hopes to find someone to film on a more one on one basis. I would think an event being in Phoenix next weekend would increase my chances of finding someone to film during the week leading up to it. If you have enough a passion for nostalgia drag racing to promote this event and give me such a hard time about not being there I would think that you would be willing to help me. So please if you know anyone that would be interested in having their car filmed this week have them contact me at professorapeman@gmail.com Thank you and that is all.
This film is going to be as "period" as possible. I do not want modern cars, advertisements, rat rods, or people in modern clothing even in the background. This is my reasoning for not filming events. Do not take that as disrespect towards your event as I am sure it is a good one. I have a lot of respect for what you are doing. I am a part of the FUGITIVES D.R.C. which are putting on a similar event in Byron, IL on July 23rd of this year.
EEERRRR... Mike is probably one of the better people that you could hope to do this with. He owns a couple of cars that would fit the bill for your needs! But, what most of us are saying is - extend your plans by a couple of days man!!! I kid you not - this next weekend at Speedworld is exactly what you are looking for! This track is celebrating it's fiftieth anniversary this weekend, and is virtually unchanged since the begining. If you don't modify plans by two days you will be missing ione of the best oportunities you will ever have. Besides, the weather back East is gonna' suck early next week anyway! Damn good video, by the way... Looks suspiciously like one of Mike's cars - HHHMMM...
You know what... I'm gonna be there. If anyone is available for filming on Saturday email photos of your car to professorapeman@gmail.com and I will be at Speedworld on Sunday as well. I hope to meet a lot of good people and spread the word about what I am doing with my film and about the Meltdown drags in Byron, IL July 23rd!!!
Good deal, I'm glad you are able to change your plans and come to this event. It will definately be worth you're while. Lots of the cars that what you want will be there. Also, as Chip a.k.a. needlouvers mentioned, I do have a few machines that might fit your bill. I'm in Huntington Beach right now using my girl freind's lap top (which I am a klutz on), so I'll send a PM here on the HAMB to you when I get back to Phoenix tommorow or Tuesday. I look forward to meeting you at the races.
