Yeah, it would be interesting to know more about what happened here...

In the meantime... Maybe it can be explained by a "bermuda triangle" over Cobo. Lots of strange things happening there. Wasn't it Cobo where the 666 taxi crashed a few years ago?

I agree with the previous statement that it's sad to see any car in any show of any kind damaged by someone else's stupidity and to have a bystander injured in the process makes things worse.
So, let me try a new prospective then, The damaged General Lee is a cookie cutter, $12,000 car on a good day. Easily replaceable on a whim in the back of most Car Trader magazines.

An entry level Great 8 contender would probably start in the neighborhood of 400,000 and up. Most are a labor of love and built to debut this weekend in Detriot. Looks pretty self explanatory to me.

  4. ive owned 4 69 chargers 2 of which were painted orange when i bought them ( one with a roller) i lost count of the guys wanting to buy them to make a general lee out of em never sold one of them to anyone who said that was thier plan

when i was a kid i never missed an episode of the dukes after i bought my first charger i looked at the show differently from the records that wayne wooten got (he is the owner of the charger registry and the guy who got ALL the remaining cars and parts from the show) they used roughly 7 cars per episode 7 seasons with like 14 shows a season remember a couple of episodes had more then one charger in them (the one with carol yarbourough in it had 3 all eventually done up like the general) not counting the chargers they lended out to other shows like knightrider and t.j. hooker

IF i were to clone a famous charger it would be the one from dirty mary and crazy larry or as dueces said one of landys cars

but anywho back on topic its sad someone's car got trashed parked in a indoor show
even if it was a general i feel for the guy that owns it

the guys here arent picking on the general at cobo they are picking at the general from the show

i will asure you if ANY body talking that car down here had there car at the show and it was broadsided they'd be pitching a bitch 10 miles long

oh and i DIDNT buy a charger because of the dukes i bought a charger cause that was as close to a 69 roadrunner as i could get at the time

and my dad owned a lemon twist yellow 70 charger up until about a year befor the dukes came out

i know a guy who built a general out of a 68 he bought alot of parts for it from me

now onto more important matters that pic of catherine bach wearing even less then daisy wore are ther more pics from that photoshoot? some place? id like to see em ...the pics :)D )

Enough about the fender bender on the General Lee. Get the insurance company to put a new no bondo fender on the car and call it a good day. The best part no one got hurt bad or worse. I would like to know where the great pictures of Catherine Bach came from. Haven't seen that one before. Might be my favorite of all time.

They're all a labor of love,no matter what they are worth or what they cost.Having more money tied up in it doesn't make it any more important. My cars that are worth say 30,000 are just as important to me as a great 8 check writers car is to him even if he did spend a million bucks having it built. That's all I'm saying.;)

One of the first things we learned at art school (college) was how to cut and fold a Land O Lakes box, and that's the first thing I thought of upon seeing that Daisy Duke photo....
