So I was wondering if anyone has any idea why my valve springs are bigger on one head? I have looked in my shop manual and it dose not say anything about it in there. I have never seen anything like it myself. The spring perches on both heads are the right size in relation to the spring, almost like one of the heads is from a different engine?? Strange
49-50 used a small spring, 51 on up Then they went to the 1.500 springs someone changed a head at one point Tony

By posting this, you are now a Rocketeer. Do a search for posts by the late, great Don_Wow on the HAMB. You will learn a lot and it's good to keep those archives active. Good luck.
Thanks for the tip on Don_Wow Chili Phil. Every one I talk to around my area keeps telling me to ditch the rocket and go with a 350. Just makes me want to keep the 303 even more!
I second what Tony said. This thread you'll love: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...oldsmobile+rocket+303+324+371+394+post+to+end
Get yourself a set of #10 heads with a 4bbl manifold and show those 350 fans nothing but tail lights.
Yeah Id take the easy way out and dump a 350/350 combo in it Who'd want anything like these under the hood? Of Course Im partial to the Olds!! Tony
Chili -My car must be a Super because it already has a factory 4bbl intake and carb..?. Its says Olds 88 4s on my title. I think its cool they did that to a more door back then. Damn Goat, you got me all worked up over those pics!!!
