Big thanks to the Singlefinger crew for putting up with me all weekend, Thanks to Rudy and Dennis too, they did a tremendous job. We had a blast all day every day! Saw so many old friends, met even more, and was able to put a face to many hamb monikers as well. Good times...

Anyhoo, here's my crummy pics. Mostly the same stuff as everyone else already posted. :D

This cool 4x4 roadster followed us to Michigan...

    Remington modified... wow!

Weird... interesting... Made me wonder "why?" but I still couldn't stop looking at it. I don't think I could fit my big toe in this car.

The infamous VooDoo Idol... Some guys hate it, some love it, I never cared for it much but seeing it in person, it looks much better than in photos for some reason. Cool car regardless of the drama. It's really greeen!

This roadster is beautiful... what's the deal with the valve covers?:confused:

I was really looking forward to seeing this car, it did not disappoint! Looked perfect, I love it.

BobK, nice to see you my friend! The car looks great, as always.

This was another show-stealer for me. The car is unbelievable. I just can't wrap my head around how you guys built this thing. I'm such a dirtbag, I'd touch the upholstery once and it would be all greasy fingerprints. Great job, REALLY glad I got to see it in person!

Just to give you fellas an indication of the detail on this car, look under the dash!

Another mindblower... I think I made 5 seperate trips upstairs just to look at this car. One of the high points of my weekend for sure. What an incredible job... I talked to Frank for a while too, super guy. Can you imagine going nearly 180mph in this buggy?!

Thanx for the pix...I certainly like to see the "other" cars in the show...most of the other pic threads on here end up showing the "same" three 32 Ford roadsters in flat blak...only with different wheels/tires...or any other square bodied car...those pix all look the same and thankfully, those aren't the only cars in a show the magnitude of Detroit.

When was the last time you saw one of these!? Thought I had a shot of the tub it was in too, but can't seem to find it...

Paul Beck had this absolutely unbelievable 33 roadster on display. It took my breath away. I REALLY, really, really... really... want it. Too bad my pocket book disagrees. I think I asked him if he would accept a left nut as partial payment. I would LOVE to be the caretaker of this car. This is as real as it gets. Built in 55, almost completely untouched since then. Dig the bobbed/filled front fenders and the lights mounted on the bumper. Column-shifted 59ab... man-o-man!

it was great to meet you this weekend. I like your car a lot.

  14. Thanks for including photos of HAMBer Frank Morawski and his Carrillo BONNEVILLE roadster. We're still wondering how the judges thought it was a road racer! Heard they didn't like the original Firestone's that went 183 in 1951. Judging sheet said they needed to be replaced!

BTW...word is the Riddler winner didn't start and drive per the criteria for the award. But they gave it to it anyway.

We are going to try and find what was being thought by the judges. Frank came in 3rd in his class behind 2 mid 60's factory light weight Mopar Clones.

The comment I have heard about the car being an 80% car at best can almost not be responded to. You can not get more period correct.

    More to follow on this

If you look even further under the dash you'll notice that the it's upholstered up there with the matching brass buttons from the interior. I've been around and involved with this car since the beginning and all throughout, and it still amazes me every time I look at it.

And... somewhere in Ohio. Some guy that was getting gas next to us asked what the car was. I told him it was a Model A, as we're standing there looking at the car he actually says "ahh, well you probably got some stupid F*$#ing chevy engine in there don't ya" We're literally 2 feet away from the car staring at the flathead. Yep... uh...huh.

Well, that car was easily my favorite car upstairs, could have looked at it for an hour.I have never looked at a judging sheet, cause I don't really like that sort of thing. It's only a guess, but I suppose it's the judges job to simply follow the criteria they are given. What we really love about that car (history, authenticity)probably scores no points on the judging sheet.
It's not an extremely detailed show car,but a beautiful, well engineered and period perfect race car.I am glad It was there and I love it,But I can sort of see where the judges were coming from. They just did their job as they were told.
