I was wondering if anyone has a 49-51 Ford Shoebox old door or part of a old door laying around that they could get me a close up picture of the cross section of it.

    See picture:

I'm in the process of designing my new rails for my hardtop chop. If someone has something similar then by all means send it over!

    Thanks in advance!

p.s. sorry for stealing someone's picture, just the first one i came across.

    I don't get it.

Don't you have the doors for your shoebox?

Maybe I should clarify my post and state that I'm not requesting that someone go hack up a door for me just to get a picture. If you have extra length laying around from a chop or even a picture of when a chop was done that would be great. I just need the design to draw out my ideas.

the-rodster - yes I have the uncut doors on the car. I plan to keep it that way till I first plan out my attack and then when I get the pictures, lay my idea out on CAD, then measure, plan, measure, plan, measure again, THEN cut. :)

Cause unlike most hardtops I've sen on here, mine will have functioning windows with the door top frames welded to the roof.

Thus the whole idea of this thread. I am redesign my top door frames so that the door can be opened with the windows up.
