For those wondering if there will be a Lead Scene East 2011, the answer is YES. After the new owners of Kustoms of America were unable to work the event into their schedule we met with the Oakside Community Park in Gettysburg & worked out an agreement to where Lead Scene East would continue.
Having been involved with all phases of our car hobby over the past 60 + yrs I have seen many instances where changes were needed to better our sport but wasn't in a position at that time to put them in place. Now that the Lead Scene East is registered under my name with the state of Penna I can make some of those changes with no opposition.
One of my "pet peeves" has always been the way the "lil guys" (the backbone of our hobby) were always passed over when it came to giving out the "Gold & the Glory". This WILL NOT happen at Lead Scene East.
In putting the event together my wife & I initiated several "old school' ideas that worked for me in the 50's, one of which was, instead of giving 1 - 2 people the big bucks & putting the rest in our pockets, we're going to "spread it around" so some of the lil guys go home with more than a wooden plaque. Using these old school ideas has helped bring a lot of sponsors on board with us. To date we will be giving over $3000 in cash & prizes away at Lead Scene East which includes CASH Awards in all classes. While there may be bigger events out there for you to attend in 2011, I don't think you'll find ANY that will be able to offer you what Lead Scene East has on the table. If you have any doubts check it out at: www.leadsceneeast.com Hope to see you all in Gettysburg June 10th thru the 12th. For additional fliers & info I can be reached here or at MemoreeMaker@webtv.net

sounds like a good show for us to attend. I always go to Carlisle to the ALL FORD National's but I want to go someplace different. So I think I found it. Plan on a Purple 65 Mustang to be there.
    thanks

You're going to go with 'old school 50's ideas' and have a photo of this thing predominately featured on your site?

    Thanks but no thanks.

OK I realize that I am getting senile but I think you would get a better turn out if you made the dates easier to find. It may be me but I can't find any dates posted. If I missed them forgive me. Make it easier for us old farts. I did try to find the dates. I went to the very first one.

From what the motel bookings & our registration numbers are telling us we may double what we had last yr. Just learned of several 1st time showing cars that plan on being there

This is a GREAT kustom show. It's definitely geared for our style of rods and kustoms, but is still all about the kustoms. Not like Lead East has sold out. I'll be there this year for sure

What makes this show work for me is all the action. Always something going on. And that was when Bob was just helping out. I've seen this guy virtually wipe himself out trying to get to everyone and make sure they were noticed and having a good time.

Met some great new friends from New York. They cruised the grounds constantly keeping things stirred up right and kicked butt in the contests. Righteous rides and good folk for sure.

Well fed at the kick off party and I'll be wearing the T-shirt they threw in. Less expensive than before and more to enjoy. Only thing missing is a drag strip, but cruising Gettysburg makes up for it...........

Gettysburg from my place is a nice lil trip. Might make it up there if Sir Woosh recommends it.

Remember the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing is right up the road if you want to take a break and go for a short ride.

Looking forward to seeing you there Joe. When you make your motel reservations make sure it's with a motel that has sponsored the show. It could make you $200 richer on Sunday morning

this gettysburg show is a good show, and could be way cooler if more people would just show up!! more customs the better! Not only do nice cars go, but it's also cool to hang out in the gettysburg after the show, lot of cool history there.
