    Couldn't believe my eyes when I found this 48 Anglia amongst the recycling steel at our local rubbish transfer station. Our town has a population of just 3800 so it was a shock to see it there.

    Well it is now ours - we saved it from the recycler. Plans are for a Community drag/dirt/skid car - Gasser style. Not going to make it street legal or try to break any speed records, and will use parts lying around as we have no budget.

  9. Looks like someone gave up on their hot rod project.

    In fresh primer yet. If this weren't the HAMB, I'd call bullshit.
    Here's a few guesses;

    A) Some guy passed away and the family needed room in their garage, so off to the scrap pile went the old body shell.

    B) Some guy REALLY pissed off his Wife/Girlfriend and she fixed his ass good.

    C) A house was forclosed on or someone skipped out on the rent and left it behind.

    With a town of 3800, you should be looking for the doors, front clip, etc. still stashed away in a shed/garage.

    This is a true story! I'm heading to the USA in May so will be on the hunt for a Olds/Pontiac/Cadillac engine and gearbox for it - don't really want a SBC. Will also be looking for a narrowed rear end and tube front axle.

  25. Well how cool is that just goes to show that one man's junk is another man's treasure.

    I may start out with no budget and low power but have budget and power in mind throughout the build for the day that there is a budget and going faster is a concern.

    Anyway very cool.
