Hi Hot Rodders. The start of the East Coast Timing Association's 2011 season is less then a Month away. The first event is April 2nd and 3rd gates open April 1st at 9AM sharp for set up and Tech. We are heading South with our home built Lakester for some more Shake down runs and the 206MPH Van Blarcom street roadster will also be attending. After such a brutal winter what better way to celebrate Spring then to be straped into a car making a full throttle pass {we hope} on the Maxton Monster Mile. Stop by and say "Hi".
Hey ronnie is maxton just one week or does it go on for acouple weeks. We plan on driving down to billetproof in florida the next weekend and that would be a great place to stop in the middle of the trip.
I'll be there. For those of you who have planned to go but have not....this will be the last year. The property managers have sent ECTA a letter stating they have no intentions of leasing them the runway after 2011.
I will be there on the bike tech line .. this event will be well attended and not one too miss ... stop by the bike tech line and say hello ... Joe
If you've never been to Maxton, you're missing a great time and a great bunch of people. Truly grass roots, but very well organized.
Some friends and I will be there, but not in the Chevy. New engine is not done, and I don't want to oil the track with the worn out 350. Maybe ready to run in October.
I am already concerned about going to Bonneville this year ... price of gas could be $5 a gallon by then .... Maxton is looking better and better ...
I am driving down the 53 Caddy on friday not looking forward to the fuel bill I get about 10 mpg . I was planning last year to drive it down but I wasnt finished with the engine swap last year. lots of fun this year. See you all on the first.
were bringing a bunch from charleston sc. if you have never been this the best one of the year! hotrod magazine will be there.
I'm planning to go to maxton and then to maybe take in the Swapmeet the following weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
C'mon man, Iron Lords are throwing their annual Auto Fair After Party again this year with Live Music, Pulled Pork & Banana Pudding and a slew of great cars and people. Why go to Billetproof (not that's it's not a great show) when there is Hot Rod parts to buy and fun to be had here in Charlotte!!! We might be at Maxton depending on how much work we have to still do for our party.
well that statement gives me hope. man i do enjoy going to maxton. its a cheap and its fun. you really do get a big bang for your buck. i hope to be there in april and i hope and pray it will never go away.
I'm shooting for both, Maxton then Charlotte, and if the Iron lords are having a party, I may stop there as well. Thats not much time to get the 55 on the road, but I'll try.
I can't be there during the day on Saturday, but the Stude will bring me in on Saturday evening for the awards banquet and then we will be at my designated spot in shut down on Sunday. Looking forward to a good time.
Anybody heading down on friday ??? I am leaving about 9 AM heading down 95. Yes Jroberts you will finally see the beast
I'm leaving Thursday afternoon...be there waiting on Friday morning. Eatin', drinkin' and spectating will be the duties of the weekend for me and my crew!!
