    There was a shot of this engine in b&w in the street rodder magazine coverage, looked like he almost standing in the same spot.

  22. cjmac -

    Yep ... but most of those pics are pretty O/T for the HAMB.

    I've yet to scan the dozens of slides my father took at the '77 & '78 Andy's Picnics (i.e., Stay Tuned!)

    In the meantime, checkout these other ANDY'S PICNIC picture threads:

    * ANDY'S 3rd Annual PICNIC - July 1969 ... PICS!!!
    * ANDY'S 7th Annual Hot Rod PICNIC - August 1973 ... PICS!!!
    * ANDY'S 8th Annual Hot Rod PICNIC - August 1974 ... PICS!!!
    * Andys picnic 74?
    * Andys Picnic, Crow Canyon Park, 1977, old pics...

  23. @falcongeorge - What issue of Street Rodder? ... my father actually shot for several magazines in the '70s & '80s (including Street Rodder, Rod Action, streetscene, Hot Rod, Rod&Custom, American Rodder, etc.) ... but to my knowledge, didn't do an article on the '75 Andy's Picnic event.

  24. Here's Carla Christensen's coverage of "ANDY'S PICNIC" that appeared in the December 1975 issue of STREET RODDER magazine:

    ... and the late Joe Mayall's coverage of "ANDY'S PICNIC NUMBER NINE" that appeared in the December 1975 issue of RodACTION magazine:

    Could have been a different magazine, I will see if I can find the photo in question and post it.

    That little 28 roadster pick up in the back ground was built by Bob Williams of Pinole Ca. I rode in that truck when i was a kid, and it hauled ass. If i remember right, it was a 327 with a 671 blower. Bob was a great guy, it took him 13 years to build that truck. How time fly's right by.

  30. @falcongeorge - That would be great! ... I always like finding articles that my father (& his buddy Gary Meadors) had published in the '70s.
