In the epic thread 60'-70's Vintage Oval Track Modifieds there are a lot of pics of cars that are still running today, or new cars with the vintage look. I propose the sepperate the thread and show off the new old cars here, and not only modifieds but all vintage racers. The following pics are from racers that run in Quebec and the north east USA with the ASCVQ club.
Here is a picture of my car. I am part of the new Vintage Texas Open Wheel Club (www.texasopenwheel.com). We will have some of our cars at the Round-up in April. The history on this car goes back to my father in the late 60's. I will get some track time this weekend at Cowtown Speedway. These old cars are a blast to drive and each one is unique just like the cars on this site. Dan 98 Racing Fort Worth, TX

And this was a car I built in 1999 for a 70's vintage cut down cl*** in California. Body was quarters and roof of a 65 chevelle, and the front clip was camaro, 350 sbc with powerglide.
These were all taken from 1999 to 2001 at Merced Speedway in California. Styled after the cars that ran there from 1965 through 1975.
And these are of a new car I built after moving to Nevada, similar style of car. Same Chevelle body, but different ch***is, and powered by 305 sbc.
It's a GM Metric ch***is, driven by Ken Hoadley, powered by a healthy SBC. He is part of the NEAR group of vintage racers (http://www.near1.com/ ).
A nice idea... but I think I'd still prefer the cut-off to be '64, '70 at the latest. How about renaming it the "Vintage racing" page and include drags, sports rods, hill climbs, etc. I love to see posts about old or cloned race cars that are actually being raced. Gary
