Hello, I'm sorry my first post would be something such as this. Monday, my house burned down and my 11 year old autistic/cerebal palsy son lost all he had. He was fixated with nascar and had over 180 diecast cars that he lost. He had a large collection of nascar preview magazines from 1994 to 2011. If anyone is willing to sell the magazines at a reasonable cost, please contact me. I really don't care about my stuff. I want to replace my youngest sons stuff.
So sorry for your family's loss. It is fortunate that no one was hurt. Your "stuff can be replaced. You will find that HAMBERS are some of the most generous, helping people out there. Please take time to do an intro it will be to your advantage. Were all the cars that were lost NASCAR type cars? Let us know and maybe we can help some. Take care, G....
I don't have a single Nascar item here to send. I wonder if some hamber has contacts with a Nascar group to find some of those? Wishing you luck, you sound like a good Dad.
Sorry for the loss, Thank God no one was hurt. I have an Autistic son also, 19 yrs old now, and can understand your need to replace his collection. For those of you who do not know, Autistic children view objects the same as people, they cannot differentiate the feeling for an object from the feelings for a person. This child needs his collection replaced just as you would feel the loss and suffering from loosing a family member in that fire and would want them back. I am not a NASCAR fan and do not have any collectibles, but there is a shop in Marion, Il that has these kinds of things. Please PM my an address and I will help the cause. God Bless, TIM
Yes...it is a bit sad but thats it. Personally I would have had SOMETHING as a way of proof to this sad story as part of my original post. I realize he isn't asking for much...but its just common sense to put all your cards on the table! I KNOW he'll get more help than he ever imagined regardless...but being so NEW and unknown to all of us, I think he really should be required to prove himself.
He is into 1/64th scale. I will try to post the pics of the news article as soon as i figure out how to scan them in as none of the larger web based papers covered the story as the weather was a bigger issue.
I understand completely. I have read the posts on here for awhile before I became a member. I luv old cars just to poor to have a project. I will post the article as soon as I can get this printer/scanner thing worked out, hopefully in the next half hour.
Sorry about your loss - good to hear that noone was injured . I don't know the first thing about NASCAR , so I'll be of zero help there . Hopefully everything works out for you guys in such a hrad time .
Here are more pics of Fordblue4ever's House. I am His brother and am currently working on uploading all of the pics of the house after the fire. He doesn't have any way of posting these up other then useing our computers. These pictures are taken with my digi cam and if need be we can take more pictures with The H.A.M.B wrote on paper to prove it. Thanks guys. I am sorry for your loss. What scale Nascar and favorites, I have multiples of some and will assist. Redsled
He likes the small scale the best and Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson are his favs. I will reply to anyone who I haven't to in the morning as I have to go te bed as all of us are sleeping in my parents front room and he won't go to sleep till I shut this pc off.
I am truly sorry for you losses, but it is a blessing that no one was hurt. I work for Tony Stewart at Stewart Haas racing and can probably find a few things to put together for your son. Send me a pm with your info and I'll work on getting something in the mail. JeremyJames
Jason, You have nothing to regret. I'm really sorry for your loss. A couple years ago, we had someone come on the hamb with a story kinda like yours, asking for hot rod decals. The members here responded and sent tons of stuff to what was supposed to be a sick child... Turns out it was a scam, and the decals ended up on eBay. So I'm sure you can undersatand if we want to check things out first. It's nothing personal. We have quite a few members in the state of Ohio, so as long as your on the up and up, you can expect a lot of good hearted people to offer you up a lot of love.
Jason, I received the PM, Sent one back asking for his Fav. drivers/ teams. Let me know so I can get some shopping done. Looks like a lot of support!!
Man, I hate to see this... I have a bunch of diecast stuff but no NASCAR... I do know the guys at White's Pitstop who are a big diecast mailorder place. I'll talk to them and see if they can donate anything. Maybe someone here has a tie to a NASCAR team... that's all it really takes to make some really cool things happen for this little guy out. Just a thought...
Wow, very sad situation. Hope that you are getting a good response from your insurance company. If we keep this thread coming back to the top bound to find someone that the magazines needed. Plus, someone that has a contact in NASCAR that can possibly help make things happen faster.
Just told the wife about this thread and her heart goes out to your family. She reminded me that our son with Autism has a Ferrari collection. He would be devastated if he lost it. We know how this must feel to your son, good luck.
sorry for you loss!!!!! i don't have any nascar stuff but i do have a big cabinet full of magazines, mostly offroad, harley, rods, aquarium, and some others. if your interested i will be more than happy to box some up and ship them out for your little guy. jeff
Awful news, I am glad everyone made it out OK. I agree with your concern about having your name on the web, you can delete the newspaper article if you are worried. Unfortunately I don't have any NASCAR stuff, but I'll put the word out, and watch for magazines at swaps/garage sales.
You can delete the original newspaper post, mark through your name and any other sensitive information in the article with a magic marker, and then repost it. Just a thought.
