Just a thought before bed but if you paint it mainly white and have pink panels, you can keep the pink interior & it looks different.

Its not really that hard. The more you mess with it the more you'll learn. Hell I've learned more by accident than on purpose! The early stuff in my album looks pretty crappy, but i just kept at it, asked questions (thanks James D:D) and some stuff turned out halfway decent imho. Now if I could just figure out how to Photoshop money into my wallet!

I made a tutorial to show some of the things I do, hope thats of some help. I fear this will get lost in this huge thread tho.
Best downloading it to your computer to read.
I can up the individual steps if its too small.

Thanks for doin' this, though, jynx. . .It gives me a better idea of what adding the black would do. . .Your time is really appreciated!

I think pink pearl, white flaked top, add the black back in with interior, dash, pin-striping is the way to go. . .

One day. . .long way to go before we're there, but now, back to cuttin' out rot. . .

While I´m off work sick for a day or two, I thought I´d mess with the Telstar again. No doubt that Jim´ll have changed it again already, thereby rendering this out of date, but hey, I didn´t have anything better to do.

And my thoughts about the roofline - if it isn´t going to be a truck anymore, then make it into a car. The rear deck is a little long as it is now IMHO. (Aww No - did I really just suggest that you change it again..?! :D)

So if you dont like the idea of me converting it into a roadster with a Carson Top what would you do with it?

I'd give it maroon scallops with cream outlines, wide whites, drop it a couple inches, maybe nose and deck it, maybe lose the door handles, 55 Ford side chrome... but I'd embrace it's sedan-ness! :D

I didn’t realize the two-toning was in maroon. That’s much better than the black I thought it was originally (too taxi-like otherwise).

I like my cars to look like an old advertising illustration, but pack a lot of power. Thus, I’d probably cut a coil or two in the front, put in 2- or 3-inch lowering blocks, get a set of wide whites or bias-ply blackwalls, and swap in a muscle-era drivetrain:

    If it’s a V8 car, I’d go 390 or larger FE; if it’s an inline six, I’d upgrade to a 300. I like 4-speeds, but if it’s a Ford-o-matic, I’d probably use an AOD. A 9-inch is probably a necessary upgrade, especially if you use a 390.

Sleepers don’t benefit much from photoshop, but I do love ‘em.

Y-Blocks have a fair amount of power and a great sound, that would be my engine of choice in a car like that!

I made these for another thread, imitating the cool hideaway headlights of the 42 DeSotos I simple removed them to illustrate how nice the later DeSotos look without the head lights.

A 312 would be plenty cool, don't get me wrong. Anything but a small block (Ford OR Chevy).

Especially not a small block Chevy as far as I am concerned too, why do people think they are so superior?

Ohhh, don't go there. This is a great thread for showing off Photoshopped customizing. Let's not get into the pro's n con's of a small block chevy. There are prolly hundreds of those threads out there already.

    Let's keep the photo's coming.
As others have said, James D you not only know how to use the software very well, you have a good eye for flow and lines. My hat's off to you.

You can't really post anything newer then 64 here, there are people that police the threads and kill perfectly good threads if they see something like that, even if you are new and didn't know better. So you'd better delete it.

Hey photoshop guys, can you help me out with my Cortina? I'm thinking mid-sixties Watson style. Lower it( right now the coilovers are cranked up) silver and blue or silver and dark gray. I'd like to keep the 13inch wheels but maybe dress-up the stock hubcaps.
For the front I'd like some ideas for a custom grille. Thanks alot![IMG][IMG]
