I hit the search, but no dice. Yep, I know it moves back an inch or so then goes down, but what exactly goes on?? I have the stock regulators that look like the picture, but what is happening with the slider dealy and the felt channels? My channel looks like it goes at a slight angle on the way down, but it's kind of hard to tell.. Does the big ear looking thing on the regulator bump or push anything?? Man, one of those cutaway drawings sure would be nice.. Thanks guys, -Abone.
I think the window cranks all the way up and then keep cranking and the window moves back. The ford barn or early v/8 site could probably give you all the information you want plus some more.
go here and look at all the post one of mine has a link to a go site with pictures http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2752243#post2752243
All it does is open the front of the window before it lowers the window. If you just open the front it creates a vacuum in the cabin and sucks out the smoke.
YOU are the MAN!!! That is exactly what I was looking for. The slider dealy has an ear with a follower thingy...now I get it.. Kick ass link. Thanks, -Abone.
Hope you have original regulators. My passenger side was missing and bought repro regulator and track that the glass clamps in. Drivers side original and works great. Passenger side not good at all. Timing between the ear on the regulator and pin on the track need to be right on to work. Also if your glass isn't positioned exactly in the track you'll have problems
