Anyone else building old dodge/plymouth other mopars?

I have A 1952 plymouth cambridge 4 door its all orig. with the 217.8 flathead six with the 6 volt system I am in the middle of restoring it to the orig. everything but the paint job. If I could ever stop driving it long anuff to get it all done hahaha its my dream car I love it and old plymouths more then anything

 

Heres my '53 Desoto Powermaster. 251 Flat six backed by a "clunk-a-matic" I plan on shaving the head, spliting the stock exhaust manifold and running dual exhaust with Smittys or Porters, and finding a dual carb intake. Lower it as much as i can safely without bags. Also am doing a few body mods such as '56 Olds headlights, '56 Packard taillights, and '56 Buick portholes.

And that's why the American title system is BS in my opinion, here in Alberta you could make the car safe and roadworthy, and then get it inspected, and once it passed you register and insure it and drive it, no fuss no muss.

I would really like that car, but to get it out of the US I need a damn title...



Is it impossible for you to apply for a lost title or a salvage title or anything like that sololobo?

 

Here in New York we didn't have titles untill (i wanna say) 1973. All you would need to license that car here is a rubbing of the VIN tag and a bill of sale.

Why would you wanna crush that car???

 

I've been working on this '41 Plymouth club coupe. It's chopped 4" and will have numerous other changed to the body before I'm done. Engine, if all goes according to plan, will be a 383 stroked with a 413/440 crank.



I've also been toying with the idea of using one of those tall Packard-type grilles and some late 30's Ford/Lincoln headlight lenses.

 

I am building a 1950 Dodge Business Coupe but we Cut the roof off and Chopped the windshield. I am building a 330 Hemi out of a 56 Desoto and a 2 speed transmission. I am looking for a convertible assembly to keep it convertible.

 

So whats the best route to take lowering my '53? I want to go down 3" up front and maybe about 5"-6" in the rear. No bags, and i can't afford new spindles anytime soon.

 

I also want to lower my 48 Canadian Dodge (more or less a Plymouth) where can I get lowered spindles for it? Disc brakes on the front would also be nice for a DD.

 

This 55 Fargo is going on a 88 Dakota chassis, 318 with a 518 auto o/d.

Also have this bone stock 51 Dodge Regent.

Both are also for sale.

 

Sololobo, can you get a title through your state as a bonded title? Most states have a process of getting something titled, you just have to know what words to use and what words not to use. Might be more of a pita then the car is worth, but it sure doesn't look like a bad car from where I'm sitting.

For you guys wanting Disc brakes, www.rustyhope.com is the place to start checking, he makes kits for most 30s-50s Mopars. Fatman makes dropped spindles for 40s & 50s with disc brake conversions (might have to use their disc brakes). Gene

Im looking for a replacement steering wheel to go on my '53 Desoto. Am i safe to assume that all mopar steering wheels of this era will fit? Does anyone have something they would like to part with? I'm looking for something with class.

I'd love to keep my original, but it falls apart more and more every time i touch it. Shame, i know it looked awesome when new. Like an ivory/pearl color.

 

I know a guy in Calgary Alberta who restores wheels, he is cheaper then all the others I have seen that do it.

 

How old is old? Does a 67 Valiant count? Bill

Jump in here also. Hope to have the 36 Plymouth woodie w/325 Dodge together enough to run by the end of the summer. Wood is finished, chassis is done, now into assembly

Will probably let the 40 Ply coupe go to a new home after that. Two inch chop, frenched lights, smooth, sbc, narrowed subframe, 8 3/4, built 20 years ago.

 

This is my 1950 Royal C48, it's the first old car I bought. I love it, I got it for $1600 and I drove it home. Original AZ car, but I got it in Vegas where I live from some guy who didn't have the time to do anything with it. All orginal except for those Coker's.
