>>>>>,HvyChvy; O K ,,BUT ,,with that pic of that other Merc ,,just thought you might ,,JUST MIGHT ,,do them Lincoln Tail Lites ,,they'd look perfect with the frenched headlites and that terrific chop ,,radical deserves radical ,,eh >?? just a thought ,,my imagination goes rampet sumtimes ,,Oh ,,and that '55 Ford side trim ??lol, lol,
Hvychvy's merc is a 49-50. The merc in your pics connman is a 51. That would be a little difficult to get those linc tail lights in a 49-50.
>>>>>,Hey Buckeye: yep ,,sorry ,,dummy me ,,my bad ,,old age has set in you see ,,at 67 i don't think straight sumtimes ,,'specially after a few cold ones ,,,oh well ,,,Bbrrpp,,i'll just sit back and have another ,,,lol, lol,
I found another photo of Dick's Mercury... this time showing the grille I knew I had seen it.. but could not remember where. This one comes from the TwoChops Photo Collection. The quality of the scan is rather poor.. if you wan to see a better scan ask TwoChops. Perhaps he can make one for us all to enjoy.
>>>>,Rikster; Thanks man ,,,great research you've done ,, I don't remember that grille at all ,,,,looks like a '55-'56-'57 Plymouth ,,but ,,li could be wrong ,,
>>>>,Rikster,,,Guys; in that picture ,,it DOES look like it's Mildly Chopped ,,or is it just the pic ?? someone that has a pic of a stock '51 compare it please & let me know ,, thanks
I don't think it is chopped. It looks like this photo showing the grille is taken at the same show as the color photo is. There the car is not chopped. Yes looks like a 1955 Plymouth grille to me.. at least thats how I had it in my mind. I know I have seen a better photo of the front somewhere.
According Fuzzy's information: 1959 N.H.R.A. Nationals @ Detroit Artillery Armory in Detroit, Michigan
Custom Craft Sept 1960 has this little photo of the Merc... But I have no idea what happened to the car...
>>>>>,Rikster; was that a '50 Merc ,,or a '51,,,i always thought it was a '51 ,,but ,,if it was a '50 ,,those tail lites was a real job ,,????/
>>>>,Rikster; I just "Googled" Dick Schneider ,,the ONLY pics on there are yours and mine ,,,interesting eh ? http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_...usto/40s_50s_build_mercu/dick-schneider-1950/
>>>>,Oh WQW !! i just went back to "Google" and looked a little longer & better ,,that's YOUR SITE ,,,dummy me ,, Oh ,,and thanks for the credits under my pics ,,,
>>>>>,Rikster; Yep ,,that's a complete '55 Plymouth grille/parking lites ,,interesting the use of fairly new car '54-'55-'&-'56 parts n pieces ,,,but those wheel wells had to be a job to do ,,
>>>>>,Rikster; in your research ,,,what motor did Dick's Merc have ,,,???/,,,if i remember right ,,,it was a LONG time ago after all ,,it had an Olds in it ,,,or was it a Caddy ,,??
I knew I had seen a feature on the car before.. But I just could not find it. Now I know why.. I dont have this issue, and apperently saw in somebody else his collection or at a swap meet... It was just posted on another Hamb thread.
