  1. This is my 27. Its my first hotrod, and its nothing fancy. It has a Cadillac flathead and a 3 speed.

    A HOOT?

Sounds like something a Studebaker owner would say. :D

When I was a kid of about 12 the widow who lived at the end of our street had a light green/aqua 53 Commander Coupe parked on the street in front of her house. I'm sure I still have a b/w snapshot of it in a shoebox somewhere. That had to be around 1967. I remember the car was real solid - I think a good detailing/waxing would have made it look real nice. I was already in love with all cars and I fell hard for this one. I wanted that thing bad! She offered to sell it to me for... $50. But my dad said no.
A few months later my maternal grandpa gave me a 40 Chevy 4-door. It was harder for Dad to say no to that... I had it for about 2 1/2 years; boy I learned a lot about cars with that thing. (I still love a 216 Chevy 6.)
    ...Sorry to ramble on...

Some updated shots of my truck. I am going to reinstall the front bumper this year and paint it the original forest green color as well.

I've got a 52 champion 4 door, not really that cool. But my dad has a 60 Hawk, with a plaque on the old Hurst ratchet shifter that reads "Turbocharged by Ak Miller". I've always that that was pretty cool, would be even cooler if the previous owner didnt think turbochargers were gay and didnt rip it off and weld up the exhaust manifolds.

  24. OK everyone knows that I love Studebakers and I really dig this thread but I gotta say this. I remember when Studebakers were called Stupidbakers by most of the rodders that I knew.

I just wanted to say that and I am really glad that this one has surfaced again. A lot of really smooth tin on this thread. Some of you have set the bar really high. I'll never pull off what many of you have.
