The Traditional Car Club Association

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by magoozi, Mar 13, 2011.

  1. You nailed it, no traditional club down here in Skeeterville Alabama for me to belong to but I want to be apart of protecting traditional hot-rodding too. Sure there will be plenty whom live in the sticks but feel the same way. Thanks for getting this started.

One of the objectives of the T.C.C.A. is to pass the torch, it's easy to critizise some kids hot rod or custom that is poorly built, if you know of some kid trying to build a car in your neiborhood, stop by and give him some pointers, if he will listen, It will only cost you a little time, and their is a great satisfation when you are teaching someone, in return you will get the kids enthusiasum and the good feeling that you helped put another old car on the road. I was taught by my old friends , and have tried to return the favor by helping new guys in the hobby when I can.

It dosen't mater what size your club is, what we need is a big voice so our elected oficials will listen, this will be achieved by sticking together. thanks again and please run it by your club.

Good idea....a couple of guys started something similar last year "The Vintage Hot Rod Association" to represent our people against rules and regs, they also got onto the register for verifying cars for registration purposes and have got a good insurance deal sorted out for members...

If this is another association that requires an annual membership fee in order to participate in any of your shows, then I'll probably be a spectator. NSRA, Goodguys etc etc. There is no denying the good things that they have accomplished but they have all become money making exercises and not all that altruistic.

If I can get a 5 dollar decal for my window and come into any of the events then I'd be in. Otherwise, I'll have to just watch.

  19. Our group of club brothers "East London Timing Association" (E.L.T.A.) have been hosting an evening club shop party for years. We have used these gatherings of orginial and new clubs as a networking event that has been a great success.

Every summer we attrack some of the oldest clubs in SW Ontario, some going back to the late 40's and early 50's plus many orginial drag racers from the day which get a great kick out of mixing with the new clubs, new comers and just guys that have been fans for years.....throw in afew bands, BBQ , neat rides and a cool shop....mix everything together and you can see the magic of the history of the old blending with the energy of the young over the fun of the evening.

We all have to do our part to spread the good word about our great history and honour those that have set the pace through their deeds.

I wish your organization the very best in helping to perserve this wonderful legacy.

Sorry to intrude here, but sometimes I can't sleep until I do this kind of thing. I thought, "what would the window sticker look like?", and came up with a few rough ideas. I know there's a lot of great talent out there, just throwing my .02 in the pot...

  27. Count The Bombshells (Northern CA) in. There's also a group that meets in Sacramento monthly. I'll let them know about this as well as all the other Northern CA clubs.
