Sounds to me like you are a vendor, so this question was not directed at you. I dont make too much money attending car shows.

Nope not a vendor.I have a variety of vehicles, always have.I can go to 20 local shows looking for parts and not find what I want.Carlisle for the general show and then again for the Mopar show.Hershey is a general show. The best cars are there as well as the most vendors.I enjoy the car shows as well as th parts hunting.
The question was very much directed at me and others like me.The original question was from a vendor and he asked if it would affect people attending.I stated I might cut 1 show and thats 1 less buyer.I would agree with you if all I did was attend a show but I go to buy not to sit.

  3. I vend at hobby shows over the winter and I did a new one last weekend, and while the crowd was pretty big the sales were actually a tad lower than another one I did in the same town the beginning of December which had a much lower attendance. So I suspect that's one place you'll see people saving their money, but my summer vending season really doesn't start until Memorial Day weekend, I won't know much until then.

I do know I need to go to a smaller van, 10-12 MPG is getting expensive.

I to live on a fixed income have for 4 years and I can tell you everything is going up but my income. I'm not bitchen or moning just the facts, and yes I took a job just this last week which does not pay big dollars but it will help out, as for a going on long road trips to shows like I have in past years. I'll wait and see just what the gas prices are, but what I do watch more then gas prices on the road is the motel cost some are getting way out of hand on cost and that piss' me off more then the gas price, they think every show is a major event and raise the price to fit their need, I feel this is more bullshit then the gas. Just my 2 cents

Sitting around with a bunch of car people, cooking up some food....at Bonnevile...with free camping. Sounds like heaven.

I had planned on 25 shows this year just to shoot pics. For the vast majority of shows I drive the latemodel so its not too much of a fuel bill, however this month I've cut back from one show due to cash and another to save $ for a big travel month in April.
