that is a tough looking merc best part of the flick ,

  3. Sorry, But I think that is one of the ugliest Merc's ever built. From the stupid looking hood scoop to the terrible stance and the Moon Discs on a Custom - it just doesn't cut it from any where near a traditional or true Custom world.

Yeah, it would only be traditional if it was running steel wheels and wide whites...
Never mind that it's a steel 2 door Merc...

It is an old car and its cool. If I had it. Id prolly grey primer it and slamm it. 59 caddy tail lights with chrome smoothies with white walls.:D just sayen

  8. There are plenty of wheel and tire options for Mercs to look cool with - but that isn't it.
And you're right - it's a steel 2 door Merc, which makes what they did to it an even bigger shame.

I can't remember the magazine, but about 10 years ago there was an article on that car. Seems that the car as built for the movie was a typical Hollywood Q&D job. Sly got it, kept it, and several years later, had a good customizer redo it with good paint and proportions, and still drives it (at least he did at the time).

It would be harder to get LESS traditional than a fully primered custom.

Its only traditional if it shines? Not. I like the ruff look. primer cars are just as traditional as painted cars. Its a paint job. Fight about it all nite if you want to. If it was my car thats what I would do. I think the cars got a 454 in it to.

  25. I like it in spite of me not liking moon discs and that hood scoop. It's still a tough Merc that they drive fast.

Washington (ANI): Sylvester Stallone has filed a lawsuit against the owner of a car company over a vehicle the movie star insists was stolen from him 15 years ago. The Rocky star has claimed that the custom-built 1950 Mercury, which featured in his movie Cobra, was stolen from a storage garage in 1994 and Stallone never saw the car again - until recently.

However, the Cobra car is now in the possession of a collector who rents out vehicles for movies, reports Contactmusic. According to legal papers, filed in Los Angeles, Stallone has claimed that he asked the car's current owner to hand over the keys - but he has refused.

In the suit, obtained by TMZ.com, the actor-cum-director has claimed that he came across his stolen car while looking at vehicles up for auction on the Internet. He has insisted that the one-off vehicle is worth more than 250,000 dollars.

Apart from getting the car in return, Stallone is demanding 3 million dollars because the car company's website allegedly used his name and image to promote the auction without proper permission.

So who wrote the rules that it has to fit into either a "traditional" or a "custom" world. I think it's a cool looking car. I couldn't give a rat's ass if it were a custom or traditional. . .
