Wow thanks for the word guys. Actually the welding went faster than i would have thought it would, i just havent had much time to work on it the last couple weeks.

Wait..is your tranny xmember removable? If not it's easier to do it now, It will save you a HUGE headache in the future

Well i finally finished the rear body mounts so they would support the cab weight. Got the cab set on and bolted down. Have to notch the rear of the cab for the driveshaft and tub the firewall. Also set the front end on there to make sure it fit right.


So here are the pictures of the chassis out side...

always loved your truck. what is great about this build is that you had a finished truck laying on bags, bt then over the years your skills got better and you decided to take it to the next level.

I have a similar project going, although my frame doesn't look this nice for sure.

On my rear airbags, I was told to use the cone style instead of the bellows style for the rear. Something about the range of motion on the cone style would allow for more rear suspension travel than the bellows style. I have a 4-link and a panhard bar basically. My bags are mounted wider out towards the wheels, relative to yours as well. Just what I was told, seemed to make sense at the time, but with you using the bellows style in the rear got me wondering if I was told some wrong info.

You have sleeve bags and yes there better for a over the axle setup. they have better lift aswell, be thinking about switching to them actually. just make sure you limit there travel.

Well I got all the windows out and started on the rust repair and dent removal on the cab, Also shaved the cowl line. Next i hope to fix the sagging drivers door and then on to chopping the top.

Heres the pictures
