Just marking this thread. I am looking for a 60-63 falcon wagon and would like some ideas of what I am doing.

No Respect, that Comet sits great.

DRM ON, your sedan looked great. I'm not a huge Ute/Ranchero fan, but I'm sure you'll make it look good. You going to build the wagon too?

do you have a front 3/4 shot of the comet wagon?
I haven't settled on a front end treatment for my 62, and the comet looks way better in the grill and bumper arena.
    thanks :)
    ...love how it sits!

Here you go.... The grill will go away for a 60 grill sooner or later but for now I need to focus on finishing the front suspension which has coilovers.[IMG]

Remember that the comet is 2" longer in the front than a falcon

Really? I thought the extra length was in the rear (except in the wagons, which aren't any longer).

I do like that front end much better with the peaked bumper and wrap around.
quad headlights are cool as well.

Yep my hood was torn up pretty good so i bought a 63 falcon hood and it was to short. I actually spliced the two together but it was ugly.

Here is a sweet, all orig. 1960 comet I know of...just needs to get running, 14" whels, and a little lowering.

1960 and 1961 wagons are actually quite tough to even find pics of...especially 1960.

Ranchero looks great! Nice stance... What size tire are you running, and what mods did you make to get it down?

Thanks, I lowered the front about 3 inches by cutting the coils, down the road I plan on bagging it but for now cutting the coils works just fine. I had to put leaf springs in the back, I used the main leaf and used 3 other leafs from a bronco 2 pack, I had to put new holes in them for the center pins though. And I used 2 inch lowering blocks in the back. The front has 195/70/14s And the back has 205/70/14s.

  18. Does anybody have anymore pictures or information on this Ranchero? It is the baddest, cleanest unibody Ranchero I have ever seen.

I cut my coils and only cut a 1/4 coil at a time. Its better to do it more than once than to have to start over with new coils.

The attached link provides additional photos and details on the Ranchero when it was listed on the HAMB Classifieds:

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6383832&highlight=1965+ranchero#post6383832

About three years ago I saw the Ranchero parked on a busy street in Los Angeles and the truck was absolutely stunning. In a city filled with high end exotics, drivers were slowing down and craning their necks to take a closer look at this very cool custom.

My 61 ranchero is really bumpy from the rear end, so i change my rear shocks this weekend but still bounces a lot from the rear. Is this a common problem with these cars or do you guys think my leaf springs are just weak? if so any suggestions? advise?

I really want to fix this issue before i install lowering blocks.

    Thanks
