We had a blast at this. Had the motor out in no time. I never seen a car frame so rusty in all my life. I have seen worse but this thing was only on the road this past summer and this frame was like this for a long time. Had patches over patches. Bill the seat is still at the shop.don`t know if Jason sold it yet. He been sell stuff off it at a alarming rate. I scammed the column out of it. Jason told me I could have the column but had to buy the keys!!!lol.
Bill you can have the seat.. its power and has switchs on it... Bill the only thing left to the car is the front suspension, power windows glass and... the rear hatch, Although it will be gone tommrow. Fitz forgot to mention the instalation fee and with the modifications it needed to fit... well lets just say...
Appreciate it Jason, but I gotta give you something for it! You didn't get the hearse for free!!! I'll pick it up Friday at the diner. LoL I was joking about converting the Dodge... If I DID I wouldn't need a bench seat anyway because my wife wouldn't get in it!!!
Come on man we want a update. Look at him, deep in though trying to figure out 2 plus 2, he had to write it down!!
Did you pay for the upgraded bandwidth ? This site gets too many hits cause of all of us on here lol!
I never had any trouble with mine.I find what he did wrong was he uploaded too many pictures at once. Poor guy is hooked on old cars!! And I had nothing to do with it!!
Rancid737 Gave me his old belt lines... So now im now longer missing the passenger side. Also pretty cool how they showed up on my birthday. Thanks man i owe you one. Started building the chassi a while ago... hade to make one front rail again lol cut the tappered section on opposite sides whoops .... Been really busy latly with being back to work... hoping to get a few things clued up and spending all next weekend back at the car.
wow the hearse freaks are gonna kill you for tearing one apart (even if it was rusted out). weirdo's be damned, that cad's heaps better off in the a. i love watchin these builds where people start off with as bad or even worse than the pile o crap i got in my shed. good work
i have no idea what it is out of but... this was from the same car... everythign in the area is 40's stuff
I got to go back and pick it up... I was to lazy to get it... So some evening if your free give me a call and im back to my busy schedule and dont have time for full day adventures
I have to hand it to you for being resourceful and scrounging up all this stuff. I got one question. Does the thought of sandblasting all your rusty parts even come into play in your mind before you start working on this stuff? I don't understand this mentality.
sand blasting is great but it is better to do it later on in the build. If you sand blast at the start you will be left with very little of that body!!! and around here it will rust over night anyway. I think when the car is all build and you know where everything is is mounted then is the time to send it out for blasting. I know this first hand cause you send something out for blasting ,pay 200 bucks for blast some rusty steel and then you end up chopping half the sand blasted metal out and when it is completed you find that it need to be blasted again!!
plan is to have everything mocked up and a run around the block just to see if anything needs to be changed then it will come part for clean up/body work/ paint
What a score Jason! That saves you a bunch of work and fabrication adapting the F1 axle to work with the transverse spring. The spring looks like it could be reusable too as there doesn't seem to be much rust between the leaves. Thats unusual for around here!
Located a set of wheels for mock up... Got to try and figure out tire sizes. Any suggestsions. Trying to figure out my ride height and free up some floor space in my garage
A Little update... built a frame the summer and collected some more parts. hopfully over the hoildays i can get the front put in the frame and mount the engine and trans. Trying to get the old perches out of the axle is quite the task. Ohh yeah i scored a old school 9 inch for free with 3:55's in it. And a mock up for inspriation Also going to try to adapt this for a shift knob edventually.
The black panel on the fire wall section is off a 81-z28. Its fits pretty nice just needs a slight bit of modifcation to be perfect.
