    Chris, Got to love the shock brackets and the web for the hairpins. Did the webs have to be that thick to do the job on the hairpins ? What thickness is that ?

    The webs are 1/4" thick. It probably could have been made out of a little thinner material. But with all the holes in it I wanted to be on the safe side, and with it a little thicker the thickness of the inside of the holes looks a lot better.

    I got the front bar removed and the front frame horns bobbed back in line with the grill.

    Cool!! Looks soo much better Chris!! I'm sure you already know this, but I was really looking forward to you bobbing those off. Very cool.
    The hair pins look great! Beautiful welds. I'm going to try to come by on saterday.

    I would like to make a kind of late comment regarding your rear suspension. Alan Johnson stated that you need a panard rod which is not really true when you have a cross spring as you do on the rear. If you set the spring/shackles up correctly the rear spring will do a pretty good job of keeping the rear end in place from side to side. Mostly because your car is going to be light and the spring is pretty stiff if you push on it from the side. My rear suspension is a single "Y" shaped control arm that has a single 3/4 inch heim joint at the front, a cross spring (Model T) no panard rod and I have absolutely no problem with the back of the car getting away from me.

    Nice build, great fabrication and neat ideas!

    Ive been working on the floor area of the cab. I fabricated a drive line loop and got it installed in the car.

    Ive been working on the back section of floor. First I made a framework out of 1/2" x 1 1/2" tubing making sure that the tubing was in the right areas to mount the seats. Then once that was made I trimmed a piece of 16 gauge for the floor. Then I had to shape a piece of 18 gauge for the drive line tunnel. Now with that all welded together I can mount the seats and start on the rear gas tank.

    I just got a miller syncrowave 250 water cooled tig. Its been such a nice welder!

    Chris, This some excellent fab work you are doing. All the parts are just mounted perfect. Love the front shocks and their mounts. It's really looking GREAT !

    I got one of the seats cut down today. Took 5" out, which made it fit the car so much better.

    I'm certainly nobody to coach you on building a hot rod, but those headlights need to come down a few inches... in my humble opinion.

    I will disagree with you on that one. The lights are fine where they are. Always thought it looks funny when the lights are down near the frame or the bottom of the grille.

    Not to mention there may be laws regarding headlight height or the fact that the lights will be way more effective for their purpose when mounted higher. (seeing at night) :)

    Shhhh... don't tell anyone, we have a disagreement on the HAMB and nobody is loading weapons! We can agree to disagree, but if anyone else from the board drops in we'll have to start throwing insults at each other.

    I got the car off of the frame rack and on the ground last night. Its so nice to see it on sitting low instead of 3 feet off the ground.
