Just got to our hosts house after the clean up, then the financial tally and etc. The weather played a big factor this year, I think many people looked out their window and may have stayed home. Yes it was a little damp at times but it never rained, however "they" were still releasing water up stream as the reservoirs were quite full. We had checked the storage conditions out late Friday, four different agency's have control of the water release, so getting a firm answer about releases is difficult.

The parking lot is actually a creek bed that is lined completely with concrete, the sides are 8-10 feet tall made of large round river rock mortared in place. I was born in Orange 69 years ago, this creek bottom has been in place as long as I can remember. So parking had to take place on either side moving water, you could drive thru it, but no way could you get across on foot.

I meet several HAMB members at their cars, did see crazydaddyo and his fathers 31 CCPU with the Rutherford 4 port head. I worked the raffle tables and in particular the new premium raffle venue. Most all of the raffle items at the breakfast were geared to the Model A more or less stock type car owners. There is no auction and I didn't meet any HAMB members around the raffle area.

The breakfast count was down a little but the raffle participation was very brisk, may have been up from previous years. The sun did come out before noon and people shed their coats, it turned out to be a nice day.

Many thanks to those who have posted photos of the event. Many Hamber's claimed the sheltered area under the bridge were they were both high and dry. If I had to guess, 35% of the cars in attendance were modified from mild to actual street rods. It was a great gathering and those who couldn't make it, really missed out on a fine ***embly.

  19. Thanks for a great show......one of the few I look forward to. Personally I liked the river in the middle, it gave a little extra ambiance and I wouldn't have ever used the bridge......plus it made me focus on one side at a time.

Ha, we should call it " A River Runs through It" show this year. I agree, one of the shows that I look forward to all year. I sure hope it isnt the last year at this location.

    Thanks for the pics Bob.

I spent a bunch of time yesterday working on the Model A RPU to go to this. I woke about about 5:30 and it was raining. Waited til 6, still sprinkling. Knowing how that creek bed flows I figured it would be a bust, so back to bed. DAMN! Should have known better ......

Saw Crazydaddy-o but was off to lunch with my fellow club members so only got to say how I liked his pops truck. I have 200 some odd pics, just got home and idk how long it will take me to post. Might be tomorrow after work before I get a chance.-Weeks
