  1. how do you go about getting power steering & disc brakes for these trucks..may be picking up a '63 this weekend..wondering what exactly I need & a rough price range because both of those are #1 on my list

id say paint it after you do the bodywork youll need to do after you raise the bags and roll the F*** over the hideous billet barge parked in the spot next to you thats hogging pic space - but after 2nd look youd probably need to change your forum name to EVOWRECKER - just sayin cuz you DID ask the question........

Does anyone know the rough number of short fleetside pickups that were built pre-64 as opposed to 64-66? I've been thinking about it and I always seem to see more of 64/65/66 pickups over the earlier (60/61/62/63) ones with short fleet boxes.

If you put power steering on you really need a backing plate for the gearbox. If you don't for frame will crack. Most suspention places like Cpp or Cl***ic will have them. Like others have said. Pull the front suspention off a square body C10. Craddle and all.

A little progress on my 64, I'm making my long bed into a short bed right now. Depending on how the money situation goes there is a lot I want to do but it all depends on the money situation. Right now, I'm focusing on fixing the rust and making the bed shorter.
Here is the frame where I laid out the cut's

Thanks guys. I'm trying to decide if I should bag it. Part of me wants to and another part doesn't... I think the look good both ways but I've never had anything with bags so it might be kind of fun.

Jshaw I think I'm going to sleep with a picture of your truck under my pillow.... Maybe I'll wake up and mine will be that nice:D Wish mine would sit that low! I have the ECE 4/6 kit and it's just not low enough. did you fab the front cross member or buy it somewhere? UPDATE: Got the rear panhard bar mounted and the brake lines ran and mounted. Still a little spongy but working on it. HEI dist., and new carb, wires, plugs, fuel filter etc. still runs rough i think the poor girl is just plain wore out.... Also whats up with my wheel offeset?! front vs. back.. just realized how dumb it looks at that angle

This thing is just beggin for a once over and a respray.... Anybody got a good driver door????

Today was 32 degrees and rainy. Instead of installing the A Arms, customcory decided to do some quick and dirty rust repair in the 63 floors.

Nice, I am doing my floor pans this week also. Mine are much worse than that, hopefully they turn out ok. I cheated though, I bought replacement pans from LMC.

I just installed some of those pans on my '61 Suburban. Turned out pretty well.

It's SUCH a difference to have an actual floor under your feet. Totally different driving experience.
Really looking forward to the next steps!
