I thought that way too, but figured that was a hit below the belt. Get Aaron to find one to trade for the Dodge.

You got squishy ground? I was in TO for a week 7 days ago. I'd give almost anything for squishy ground. Was nice out there, but had to come back to winter. It's been snowing lightly ever since I got back. Would love to have met up with some of you guys out there, but the schedule was packed with tourist stuff. Loved the lakes and the falls, plus the three Aerospace museums we "had"(another interest) to see. First time ever in the big ON. I hope there is a next time.

    Doug.

Like I said earlier just do the trade with Arron. I would rather see the car running the roads in Ontario this summer and Arron can make that happen if anyone can. And you will be on the road too.

that chevy is a good looking car but you could replace it anytime, you can't replace history! keep your car.

I fell in love with the Dodge the first time i see it ! sadly for your ( past ) research of history of the car, the first time i saw it was in your previous tread !:D
I found it so kool i couldn't even imagine someone could find it ugly ! If it would mind i would change anything ! neither the front end, nor the tailites or... anything ! That thing is crazy ! One very rare example straight from a very obscure and regretted ( in a bad sense !) period that look really nice ! It's not classy like the Hirohata, but it's not from the same time !
I dig that car so much , i can't wait to see it on the road again... and may be one time we will know something more of it's history ! please some one keep us informed ! ;)

The trade was a win win for everybody. I would prefer the Chevy because it's already done, but that Dodge is a one of a kind. It's just not done yet.

Harsh comments can be funny if it ain't yours.

    this is just great.
Before Leadhead posted i was gonna say trade only if the other guy is gonna put in on the road and give it its deserved love, so, considerin that this is gonna be the case, plus he is a good friend of yours i say this is an amazing win trade. After all its not like youre not gonna se the car ever agin.
The Chevy is a very nice car, it reminds me of a very styleish custom that used to be in The Swanx club, it had the same grille if i remember right.
The only thing i aint sure is the vent window set up, but i guess its an easy fix if you realy want.

Keep us updated, both on the Dodge and the Chebbie!

  20. Well I have to say that I know absolutely nothing about the car myself. It is a beautiful build at least coming from where I sit and not being a sled type myself.

I think if it were mine I would be less worried about the actual history and more worried about putting what I know about it back correct. Color for instance would not be a major concern as show cars often got painted many different colors and schemes when they were on the circuit. I would just about bet that once you get it out in public someone will remember it and give you more information as you go along.

Anyway beautiful car you have a lot ot work with.

Oh I just voted if you still have the dodge keep it, that blue chevy is just one of thousand just like it the dodge is one of a kind.

Hey Porknbeaner, trust us , this car has seen its share of daylight over the years looking for answers. I was one of its past ,shall we say "kinder" owners before the hoarder got it prior to Steve. No-one that I know of in the past 25 or 30 years was able to come up with any solid info, it has had most of its Kustom history since landing in Ontario in the late seventies, early eighties. There are an elite group of us over the years that have managed to own her for a while and we've all managed to become friends of sorts, so if for no other reason than this, its a very important Kanadian kustom in its own right. Aaron will do the car justice, or the rest of us will hunt him down and make him drive a Hyundai for the rest of his natural life! Hear that Robert's?
Ha,ha..... looking forward to seeing it back home where it truly belongs again, sorry Steve. Who knows, maybe having this car back in the neighborhood ( speaking loosely) will light a fire under my ass to get at the radical 53 Buick again this year after having it packed away for the past 20, not likely but stranger things have happened?
    Chris....

I have known both these guys for over 20 years now no one of them is better than the other. Steve loves to build from scratch and knows what should be done with this Dodge. Aaron also a great builder has been after the car for years as well and has a shit load of talent. I and many who know the car just want to see it prowling the streets again. Best of luck to both of you.

I have to respect any thing that has had time and effort put into it and this car obviously has. I hate wars over how a car looks, we all have different tastes. That's what makes it cool. Imagine a carshow where all the cars are the same...BORING. This car is unique, maybe not the prettiest, but it will turn heads and thus... goal accomplished. I will say that maybe different taillights would help it. It will look better with paint. I like the fact that someone dared to be different. Like it or not, it exists.
My opinion is that it's not for me, but it may be for someone else. RESPECT IT. My car is not that pretty either... or at all. But I love that hunk of steel.
My dad used to say "if you didn't sweat, cry, or bleed over it.... don't worry about it". That's all

i will be leaveing next weekend to do the trade.already have most of the parts lined up or bought to get this sled back where it belongs,ON THE STREET.chris i will ride my bike before i drive a hyudai.as for my vent window treatment on the chev,i found no info how to do them when making your own hrdtop.when the door is closed you see nothing as the cut line is below the chrome, just has to figure away to make it water tight, but then i've never had an old car that dosen't leak water somewhere.
