I still have it, BUT gave it to my oldest son to drive, and he loves it... 69 grand torino fastback, 352 winsor, disk brake car. gulfstream aqua with white stripes.
well all you guys who have your first car sitting somewhere not running you need to sell it to the next asshole that knocks on your door wanting to buy it or he'll be here starting a "rotting away and he won't sell it" thread.
Well, I had a '31 Ford 2dr. Original car in fair shape. Black with semi-functional mechanical brakes. My dad paid $250 for it off a local car lot. I drove it about a year and sold it "upstream" to a lawyer guy in Oklahoma City who wanted to restore it. Damn, I should have kept that thing!
I sold my first car, a 56 Ford to my cousin when I went to SEA in 68. He sold it and lost track of it.Years later I spotted a 56 in a group of junkers behind an abandoned service station.Went to look and sure enough,it was my old car.But someone ran it into something and at the time it did not look worth fixing. I would have bought it back now. I really wish I could get back my second car, my 66 Fairlane Xl 390/4speed .But I lost track of the papers I had on it and can't track it down.
I bought two model A sedans when I was 15 for $75 in 1963. The tudor was a roller and the 4-door was a basket case. I semi-restored the tudor to drive in my senior year of high school and had to sell it when I went into the service after high school. Never saw it again. Here's a picture during rebuild. There was a small group of us that had stock model A's. Had a lot of fun.
Mine's O/T for the boards, a '98 GMC Sierra. Reg cab long box, plain as could be but I really loved that truck. Had it for 6 years, decided on a nice sunday afternoon after working on my coupe I'd take some garbage and junk bits to work to toss into the dumpster. Driving home, windows down just enjoying the evening a kid (Kyle B**** you asshole!) ran a red light and I punched him going 60. Both my truck and his new Neon (or whetever it was) were toast. He told me that was the third vehicle he'd wrecked...at the time he was 18. Bummer.
Mine was a '60 Biscayne. Bought it from the original owners grandson. Was originally a 235/pg car. I ran 4 differnt small blocks and 1 TH350 in it over the years. Drove it all thru High School and kept it for 13 years. My wife's younger sister even drove it to High School for a while. Sold it to a guy in Iowa in 2003. Last time I saw it was on the back of a 9 car hauler. Do I want it back? Not really, sure if I saw it for sale for a good price I might buy it. There have been other cars that I sold that I would like to have back more than the Biscayne.
53 studebaker pickup my grandad gave me, started restoring it,never drove it. it sits in the garage while i finish my A coupe. ill never let that pickup go.
My first car, 50 Stude Champion is in the garage. My dad bought it for $50 in 1969. I drove it to High School from 1973-74 up then until about 1980. Still have a 70 AMX I bought in April 1975, 36 years ago. I also have my wife's grandfather's 1954 Stude pick up he bought brand new in 1954..
My first car was a "55 Ford Victoria. Black with a black interior, car was in perfect condition, paid a $125.00 for it in 1968. The Ford-o-matic gave out,, and being in high school and working weekends at a carwash, I didn't have the dough to fix it. My brother had a '56 Crown Victoria and a neighbor of his ran into it while it was parked on the street in front of his house. He needed the front end group from my Vicky, so I traded it to him for a 10-speed bicycle. Yeah, I basically gave it to him. Got the jones now for replacing that car. Fond memories of it.
Lucky enough to have hung onto my first- it's just barely Hamb-able but I'm happy to have it. '64 Chevelle with 283 powerpack and muncie 4 speed. Never drove a stick before I bought it- never driven anything but a stick since... still having troubles with pictures on threads but if you really like I have some shots in my album. fourspeed
79 coupe deville on 14 supremes. went thru a chain link fence and into a trailer house... then junk yard.. haha. fun times in that car!
A bit O/T,but mine was a nice '68 Pontiac LeMans. Sold it to get my first F-bomb('72 Camaro-I know,I know;give me grief. Hey,I was a kid,OK?). The LeMans went to a local guy I knew, who liked beer. A lot. That car hit a telephone pole head on,got repaired(How?!) and ran again, only to have Bud Wiser(his nickname) wrap it good around a tree. He lived-somehow-and totaled at least three other cars that I was aware of. The last crash finally took him, though. Interestingly enough;I was yardin' with a friend back in 1980,and saw the '68 Poncho. Went over to check it out and could still get into the interior. I had a small stash area for,uh,medicinal herbs under the dash that I had created,so I carefully reached under it(the dash),and lo and behold, what do we have here? A small container that I had hidden and forgotten(WTF? I didn't smoke THAT much then-did I?) was still there. It had remained through my ownership and Mr. Wiser's,and the crashes. Karma? Kismet? Plain dumb luck? Whatever, the container still contained some "medicine" which was burned in a ceremonial manner befitting the occasion. If I remember,it was still good shit... Circa 1973. Damn, that was along time ago...
Still got mine. 1968 Mustang coupe. I wanted to sell it 15 years ago to pay off bills that i ran up building a jeep ( big mistake ! ) so my dad bought it from me. I bought bought it back 10 years ago..and now it is in the garage all apart waiting new sheet metal and everything else. Looks like it will be my retirement project one day.
My first car was a green 1966 Mustang coupe with a V8 in early 1970. I got married in 1971 and the next year decided I needed a new car. I traded it back to the same dealer for a 1972 Maverick. A few weeks later the car appeared at a house two blocks behind my parents house, parking on the same street I used to park on. It was there for several years and was later to sold to someone else two block behind them, parking on the same street. After a few years it disappeared. Many years later I tried to trace the car through it's VIN number but it was not in the system. I found out later the car was sold to someone in Missouri and the car was totaled on the way home out of state. That is why it did not show up in the system.
The first car I physically owned was my 1946 Studebaker truck that I still have and am still building/driving after 20 years. My first on the road car was my 1984 AMC Eagle wagon that I put over 100K on myself (has over 203K now). It is currently stored in my mom's extra garage bay waiting for some light resto and a return to the road someday soon. I have owned over 30 other cars and truck since. Still own a couple of those too, but most were sold and some were scrapped. Josh Quick Quick Speed Shop
I tried to find out for a long time with no results. '39 Ford half ton, no bed, Primer gray with a green vinal seat, and a 11 ball for a shift knob. Last seen in west Tennessee a long, long time ago.
I still have it and drive it to work at least once a week- '34 Chev Standard tudor. Lucky me! I've owned it for 42 years now...or it's owned me...yeah, thta's more correct.
My first car, a 1952 Plymouth Cranbrook four door sedan, ended up in a boneyard in Orchard City, Colorado in 1979. I bought the car for ten bucks in 1972 and drove it home. This was my first engine swap, also, since the original lost #6 on the way home! I sold it and the other '52 I had to the same guy about a year later ('73), and he drove the Cranbrook for quite a while, until he blew that second engine up. I happened across it while I was parts hunting for another Mopar I had in '79. Sad to see both '52s sitting there...
My first one was a 1966 El Camino, 283 powerglide. Have no idea where it ended up. I paid $600 for it when I bought it and sold it for the same a few years later. Wish I had it back. My wife's first was a 1966 Mustang. I just tracked it down in a nearby town. The guy was willing to sell it, but wouldnt budge on the price. Had way too much rot for what he wanted.
I still have my first car. I bought my 55 in April 1977, with a 283, Muncie 4 speed, and a 4:56 rear end. It still has the same engine, (bored to 301), trans and rear end.
first car? went to the scrap yard. i smashed it good. second car? see above. repeat that for a few more cars... either smashing them into something, or them just being rust buckets that fell apart and/or would not pass inspection. as of today i've had 47 cars. i miss a few of them. now... as far as the first car i regret selling? one in particular: a '55 plymouth belvedere 2 door post, 383/727, horrible volare front clip... i sold to a HAMBer who hasn't logged in for years. Heard he sold the car... i really wanted to buy it back. i'd still love to find it... wonder where it is from time to time
I found my first car, A friend of mine told me where it is and sure enough I saw it after 52 years it was sad to see it in it present state, in 1959 I went to Calf from Missouri and 42 years later moved back to missouri to retire and at my class reunion one of my class mates told me "do you remember your 49 chevy I know were it is" needles to say I was all ears he said that Pets Cafe had put in a bilboard sign next to I-70 interstate and the Missouri River with the right turn signal flashing ,sign saying turn here for Pets Cafe, So I went to see and sure enough the sign is gone as pets cafe went defunk but there is my old chevy setting on the side of the bluff, It can only be seen when all the trees are bare, I know were it is but short of a merical and a lot of money I guess what there is left of it will lay there till there is nothing left to see, its been there 40 years now.

This was me with my car in 1957
