I have had a few shields break at work when we are welding on the river in Jan/Feb from the cold. Too funny. I wish I had another to send you. I keep giving them to apprentices....
I am waiting for my shipment of good from Rebel wire....

I can imagine you looking like this guy before you snapped from cabin fever and went out and did all that work in Tundra like conditions lol

I didn't really take accurate measurements, but I'd venture to guess about 6-7" all around and it was sitting in the driveway right beside the garage.:D

  9. I was looking for it too, what the heck

I prefer to work at precisely 38 degrees F. That way, my beer never gets warm, and I dont get all sweaty either.

  12. Andy your slacking I figured you would have been driving this thing by now:D. Looking good keep those pictures coming.

Hey, which fenders did you decide to use? I'd say both pairs are probably in the same condition.

Looking good so far. Have fun with the floor, and make sure not to stick yourself with some of those screws going all directions under there. Reminded me of a tiger pit...

I'm just gonna use the ones that are on there, I'm really not that concerned with body work on this truck, I'm just patching up all the gaping holes in the passenger compartment to keep the weather out and that's it. It's gonna be a brush painted, beater-ass, parts runner. Those other fenders aren't really any worse, just have someone elses poor repairs to fix. At least the ones that are on there are unmolested.

All 3" screws have been removed, haha! I have to get over to fedcospeed's and beadroll the new floor pans... Get my new tires mounted up and buy some front shocks and brake parts.

I started stabbing the engine/trans in there this morning, should have it in for good tmw evening. The only problem with flipping the axle like this is I have to mount the engine a little higher to clear the pan, gotta trim the firewall a bit and make a custom trans cover now. No big deal.

The '52 those black fenders came off of had a Nova clip and a 350/350 setup. Looking at the truck from the side with the hood off you couldn't tell there was a motor in there. looks like plenty of room in that engine bay. Do you have enough clearance to move the motor forward as you go up so you won't have to fight with the firewall?

There's plenty of room between the engine and rad, but I have to keep it as far back as possible to keep the pan sump behind the axle/tie rod. I will have to trim the firewall just about an 1/2 inch or so just above the trans bell but no major hacking or anything. Should be a cinch. I guess that's a benefit of using a dropped axle but oh well...

Excuse me, but what is snow??? How do you know if the temperture goes below 50 degrees? Do you have like a measuring device??? I think this may be one of those phony posts.

Kidding aside, you are one tough son of a gun, you have my upmost admiration. Kudos from sunny California.

    thanks fellas!

Engine/trans are in! Floor is OUT, hahah! After a closer look at what was there and what wasn't, I braced the cab a bit and removed the ENTIRE floor from the b pillar forward. Took about 4 minutes haha, not much left down there... luckily, all the cab mount areas are intact and look reasonably sound. I'm gonna whip up a 1/2 x 1 1/2 16g rect box tubing floor structure and go from there. NY salt was NOT kind to this old gal...

Yay, everybody's favorite engine! Big thanks to my homeslice chopo for the mill! I used pieces of the original motor mount pedestals and the original SBC side mounts, welded a nut into the top of the framerail cap above the notch. Nice and simple.

Haha, yea, they haven't left the cab since, I didn't want to get them mixed up with mine. You know, I'll yank that yoke this week and get that stuff to ya.

Friggin body work man, i am getting sick of it allready, and i haven't finished one panel yet!

Made a little progress this week... Mounted the radiator I got from kwmpa, I think this must be a shoebox 6 cyl unit, I had to make a few mounting brackets and trim the hood airdam, but it fits really nice. Thanks bro! Check the sweet autozone chrome kit and hi-po yellow plug wires! Primed the oil pump, Bolted all the engine acc on to fire it up and discovered that I'm missing a water pump pulley and I have a 153 tooth flywheel starter and a 168 tooth flywheel. DOH!! Other than that, she's ready to fire!!

She's actually starting to look like something.... exactly what, I'm not sure! Hay-haulin' redneck mobile?

Found some REALLY beat {read: CHEAP!} rear fenders at a secret honey-hole down in central PA that will suffice until I find better ones, just gonna patch where the running board mounts for now.

Shored the bed I grabbed from my pal jgang up a bit, bolted it down, clamped the tailgate in place, need to fix the one lower edge before I can mount it on the hinges.

And I also plumbed all the brake lines, modified the original three on the tree column shifter to work with the auto trans, remounted the front upper shock mounts as the notch/boxing eliminated the original holes and with the lowering job they were way too low anyhow. Built a skeleton for the new floor out of scrap folded angle and started skinning it.

This week I hope to finish the floor, get it running, rebuild the brakes, get the new wide whites mounted and installed, shorten the driveshaft, and go for a spin around the block! We'll see...

Anyone have a spare TH350 slip yoke? I'm new to this chevy stuff!
