  2. No front clip? Sounds like the one that was stolen from me a couple of years ago. I want it back. Thank you very much for being so understanding.

Congrats! So is this thing a 2-dr or what? Those Hemis are big heavy pigs! Trade you an E-100 English Ford 4-banger for it - lots more room for the A/C, etc...Think about it...

You have done well, they are getting scarce around here. There's a retired Firefighter that has an old Hemi that I've been watching for years. He still doesn't want to sell it tho. Probably end up in his estate.

its a 2dr hard top, no pics yet i still live in the stone ages.

  9. I found one of those over the summer, but it's an old wreck and they left the hood off and took the carb. The block is probably ****. I missed a 392 in an Imperial by a few weeks, too (found another one but no heads or intake left). Eventually I'm going to go back and nab this one - it's a 2dr, so maybe someone will want it. Of course, what's left of the front clip is shot, so we're in the same boat in that department.

theres 2 54 or 55 (i think) 4 door new yorkers near me. They'd make damn good parts cars, most of the parts are there between the two of them, what one doesn't have the other one does. Both of them still have the hemis in them but are missing the carbs and valve covers. Think the guy wanted around $300 a piece for em'. I would've already gotten em just for the hemi's if I had a place to put em!

About 7 years agoe i had an oppertunity to buy a 56 Chrysler from a local yard, running with a Hemi in it, for $400! of course I had to turn it down [IMG] being in college and all I had no money [IMG] FYI the car did get sold and not s****ped.

There is a local yard that currently has a slew of old tin. 56 F100 PU, 48 Chev fruit truck (that things neat), complete Model A (was in a barn fire so it looks kinda droopy) another model A 1 ton wrecker, 52 Chev 4 door. I could go on and on. He's got about a dozen cars and trucks pre 59 the only problem is he wont sell any of them [IMG] he just lets them sit there and rot.

About a year ago I saw a real nice looking 4 door 56 by the street inside a big trucking lot with $100 in the window. It was obvious by the way it sat there wasn't an engine. I went back and had to stand around like a **** for about 15 minutes while everyone in the office acted like I was invisible. Finally the boss told me it was his dads and gave me the number. I was all jazzed and called the old guy. After he told me how the machine shop had lost one of the heads and blah blah blah I said "so how much are you asking". I think he said something like $2500. I told him it said $100 in the window. Seems one of the guys at the yard was playing a dirty trick on the old chap I guess.

    I'm skeptical.

A few years ago i was at a yard in the back woods in Jesup.
I was asking the old man for some flat head carbs. He said that he didn't have any flat heads left around but he had a 3 two set up sitting around. I was on the shelf in the corner. It was a y block set with fuel log, carbs and linkage. It was a eldbrock intake ith 3 94 on it. I ask and he said hundred and I said mine.

In the last 50 years I've had more great wrecking yard scores than I could write down in a month. How about a teaser.................'57 Corvette w/hard top for $500.............I was driving it around before the sun set the day after I got it home.
